Ohhh man! I recently got a cat right, but my mum and dad treat it like royalty, like its a baby, seriously, like they talk to it like a baby, and not normally, like you could mistake them for talking to my daughter!!
it really grates on me. and the other day i accidently hit the cat off the door when i was coming in from work and i got a mouthful saying not to do that. i didnt see the damn thing did i!
Arhh. its just a freakin cat!
Is it normal for them to act this way?

A pet is part of the family, you should treat it with the same respect as you would anyone else. Sometimes people do over spoil their pets, but hey, they're just having fun.

lol my mom's friend does that w her cats. Gypsy Rosebush sat on her throne for years being pampered and primped & having to do NOTHING but sit, eat and play. Now that that one's dead she bought another cat and called it "Angel" and at first Angel was jumpy and scared, but she quickly adapted and now she too sits atop her kitty throne, motionless, doing nothing, wanting nothing, like the Buddha. She's a lil' schmoofums
