I shave my arm pits everyday and I can STILL see the hair. I don't know if it is under my skin or what. Whenever I go swimming or wear a tank top anywhere, I make sure not to lift my arms up so that people cant see my arm pits! is this normal?
Do you think it's normal?

yes, this is normal. the same thing happens to me. i find that if i shave every other day, the hair is less visible :)
That happens to me too! Do you have curly hair? The hair may not be going away because it's ingrown (under the skin)
My hair is kind of curly. yeah.
Maybe they are ingrown hairs.
Generally, every time you shave your hair will grow back thicker. So, by shaving every day you're not really helping anything, and it could increase your chance of having ingrown hairs.
My suggestion to you would be to choose a week or two (however long it takes) when, weather permitting, you can wear longer sleeved shirts, and (yes, it's disgusting) but let your arm hair grow out to about an inch. Then book an appointment to get it waxed. Every time you wax the hair grows back lighter, and thinner because it pulls the hair out at the root..It then becomes much more manageable!! (ps it hurts less and less every time, too)
Shaving hair doesn't make it grow back thicker, dunce. It just feels thicker because of the stubble.

Asker: Im the same way. Don't worry about it.
I'm pretty sure that shaving does make hair thicker and spread more, despite what some people say, I have seen it from experience an it is a generally accepted fact.

You can also end up with more than one hair in each follicle by shaving a lot, and if you shave every day it won't shave as closely as if you leave it a week in between.

Also shaving only cuts off the hairs at the surface, so if you have dark hairs you can still see them as a greyish tinge under the skin. The thicker they get the more obvious it will be.

You should try laser hair removal instead
Laser is dangerous for the arm pits due to the presence of Lymph Glands there.
You should try the insane torture device deemed..."the epilator". It's this electronic beast of a contraption that has rotating discs inside of it that simultaneously tweeze out all hair at the root. Google it. They're terrifying but effective.
Any guy will tell you that the more you shave, the thicker and faster your hair grows back. I shave my beard and not only do I sometimes get ingrown hairs afterwards, but if I've shaved it too soon after the last time it comes back very quickly. However, if I wait up to a week or two before shaving, the hair takes a lot longer to grow back and there's less ingrown hairs usually.

I'd suggest you kept shaving your armpits to minimum and/or look at some clinics which may be able to help you with their various ways of removing hairs. Or you could just embrace your hairs - some guys find it a turn on if it's clean and trimmed. You don't live in Europe do you?
