Tiny Thing Surrounding Strand. Ah.
61% Normal

Okay so i have a really bad habit of running my fingers through my hair and pulling at each strand individually...I do NOT have lice/dandruff etc. but sometimes i pull on a strand which isn't SMOOTH. You know, other will be really smooth but then i hit one and BAM i pull at the small almost crunchy-like feeling until i take it off at the end of the strand of hair. it looks white and doesn't happen very often. I do not know what it is but it almost looks like the root of the hair follicle.
Do you think it's normal?

i think i know what you mean, but i have no answers so go see a doctor :)
Sounds like your working way up to a full blown case of Trichotillomania.

I'm no doctor (duh), so you'll have to go see one to find out if I'm right.
now you scared me! i pull out my hair too. now i'm stressed out every time i see hair in my brush or the tub drain. once, i collected hair from my brush and put it in soda cup. after 6 months, it's pretty obvious i'm losing hair. now, i'm getting self concius. btw, i have a very fine hair. i'm so jealous with girls who has beautiful thick hair.
You need to go see a doctor. There are many medical reasons you could be losing your hair and have fine hair. Mostly is associated with protien deficiencies. If you don't know what protien is, its found in foods like meat and eggs, and nuts so if you not eating enough protien that could be the reason too. My advice is to go see a doctor and eat a lot more protien.
I do that and I have trichotillomania you should see a doctor before it gets bad because I can't stop and it's been about four years.
i do that with my goatee like all the time
