To me there is something deeply spiritual about smokeing a cigarette

Am I nuts? I'm a recovering drug addict and I love my recovery and staying clean, however there is something that is different about nicotine. Whenever I used hard drugs or illicit drugs it felt soulish and sickening. However with tobacco it is like my spirit connect with other spirits or something. I believe in God and know I can talk to him without smoking, but when I smoke I feel like I'm communicating with something....else.
Do you think it's normal?

I think the fact that you have an addictive personality could play a factor in this for you. I say whatever makes you feel at one with nature (or whatever it is you are feeling closer to) is a plus. I don't know that this is normal, but I wouldn't call it abnormal. Perhaps the deep inhale makes you envision heavenly surroundings? It just seems as though you are replacing your harder habits with two less hazardous ones... 1. Nicotine, and 2. Spirituality. Good Luck with your journey!
