well i have been overweight all my life, even when i was a little girl. but now i am 27 and weigh 525 lbs. i am disgusted at myself for being so big but every time i try to diet, i just keep eating more. i cant seem to stop myself. i feel like i am depriving my kids of a decent mom, because i cant take them anywhere without getting breathless. and i feel like i am depriving my husband of a sex life as my doctor told me if i had sex, it could cause me to have a heart attack. i have seen programmes about people who are so obese that they cannot leave their beds, and it scares me to think that i am heading that way. it has gotten so bad that my husband has to call our 2 neighbours round in the mornings so they can pull me out of bed, because i just cant do it myself. i feel like he is becoming a carer rather than a husband and i feel so awful about it. i want to be able to be a good wife and mother, but i dont no where to start. please help me

Try to exercise a lot. It helps. If you want to be a good wife and mother. You will do it. I eat a lot too but I do sit up, do house works, on weekend I walked for like 2 or 3 hours in the mall. It's not a lot of exercise but it will help loosing some weights. I'm not really into exercise but I have to because I don't want to get more fat. Why don't you join the program that they have. I think it call the weight watcher. They have it on tv comercials too if you want to join that. Good luck to you.
I am very sorri for what i am about to say... but sumtimes you have to be cruel to be kind. 2 be perfectly blunt and honest, i am disgusted by how much you weigh. do u not realise the health risks involved with being as overweight as you are? do u not care that if u were to die (and there is a good possibility that u could) ur husband and children would be left alone? although i have never been overweight myself, i have had a number of friends who were concerned about there weight, and let me tell you, it was hard enough for them to lose weight when they onli had a few pounds to lose. but it CAN be done. it will take a very long time and lots of hard work for you to shift the weight, but if u r willing to do it then there is no reason why u cant! the key is lots of fruit n veg, and plenty of exercise. just start small, like walking 10 minutes a day, then gradually increase it. i wish you the best of luck and sincerely hope you manage to get to a healthy weight.
Thats harsh sir smithee. dont tempt her! lol. Healthy diet and exercise is highly recommended. but u have got a lot to lose and its not gonna happen overnight. but the sooner you throw out the hamburgers and junk the sooner the weight will come off. good luck
have you considered getting gastric bypass surgery? that could help you lose weight quickly and the insurance should cover it if your weight is a serious risk to your health.
You will have to consult a physician to lose weight if you are indeed as heavy as you say.
Ok I agree with everyone above..Except I actually believe you can lose the weight...My mom's a Dietitian..And really if you apply yourself you can achieve your weight loss goal...Do it for your kids.....your 27 so that means your kids must be pretty young...Dont let them grow up with out you....Because seriously if you dont start now your not going to have very many years left.! I hope you get help...

There is a girl in my school, she is maybe 16-18... She weighs at least 300-450 lbs. She smells and never presents herself nicely.

Now, I feel NO pitty for her. Some people I do, but when you're that age, you must have to sit on the sofa with containers of butter and never ever get up..

I'm overweight and I'm 15 years old. But I play field hockey, and I'm on the track team.. so I try my hardest to stay as healthy as possible.

As for you, there is no going back to start over, it's time to get medical help, i truly do wish you good luck!

Consider gastric bypass.
No need to starve yourself if you're doing so. I used to be overweight as well when i was younger, I used to weight almost 200lbs by the age of 14 and 15, and I'm only 5'5 now. But what I did was made a commitment and a promise to myself. That's all you really need to do, without believing in yourself or not trying hard enough, you're not going to get anywhere in life. Life is full of many obstacles to go through. So pretty much, create your own diet like I did and stick to it, exercise is very important too. Try walking around your block 3-4 times a week and drink lots of water!

You have my sympathy. I can tell you feel bad. Keep in mind the issue is not how you look - its your health. Act decisively and make steady progress for the benefit of you husband and children. Start with a very simple plan. Double your excercise. You dont have to do push-ups. You can just walk more etc. In a month or so double it again. It gets easier.

Secondly, and forgive the personal nature of this advice, you must reduce your intake. You may not be able to reduce it by half, but make a significant effort. The habit of over-eating will be hard to break. Consider replacing this with regular attention to your husband. Have intimacy with him as a replacement for your food craving. You don't need to stress yourself greatly risking a heart attack. Try giving him a massage, or anything else that comes to mind. You will both be inspired by this.
wow, I am sorry Miss.. but serisouly get lipo or something, cuz exercise might kill you if you can't walk far without looseing breath, or sex will give you a heart attack.. just remove it then you can start from there after you get it removed eat right and then you can exercise and NEVER get that fat again, and your family will be better and happier.. and wont go without a mom.. so do it immenditly!

If she excercises, it could be very hard on her heart.

I say go on a fast. You can survive for over a month with nothing but water.

You will lose about 1/4 of your body weight durring that time. No joke.

Cabby, I'm beginning to think that our "Sergeant" is just another IIN member's idea of a running joke. He/she's pretty good at it; the down side is that it's become annoying as hell.
