Two strange phobias

I have a fear of wide open spaces in the wild, like you know the stuff you see on tv with those animals running wild. Just watching that freaks me out and yes it is just the vast openness and terrain and not the animals. The way the camera just angles on the land does not help either. Also, I cannot look at pictures or anything for that matter of the galaxy/outer space, close ups of planets etc or I will start to panic. These phobias were not with me as a child.
Do you think it's normal?

not at all , if a gay guy hit on me i would punch him in a nose, gay guys have just as low standards as women do. for every good looking gay couple there are twelve ugly gay couples.
Agoraphobia

If it has a name its pretty normal.
I had something like this when I was younger except it was with water. I couldn't watch anything on television where someone or something was under water-especially if they were drowning because it made me feel as if I couldn't breathe myself. I got over it though with some rational thinking and stopping myself before I started freaking out about the situation.
You're not claustrophobic at least.
I have this too, I am scared of the OPEN OCEAN and anything like that with far spaces
I used to have the same thing as Rockgurrl, even in video games like morrowind i was so freaking scared of the water, and swamps too.
Your clearly scared of losing touch wittth people and drifting away etc...im like this with the ocean..
You have the phobia of large spaces. You are probably scared to be left alone in a wide space because it seems like there is nowhere to go and there is no guidance or direction. When I think of it myself it is a scary situation to be in
Do not worry! Watching programs or films about space just make me get claustrophobic like I cannot breath! It is completely natural! Wide open spaces are not a problem to me but I can see the overwhelmingness of getting lost though.
A fear of something is a disbelief of something good.. You believe something bad will happen and not good. Did Jesus believe something bad will happen or did he believe something good will happen from his bad experience? What was his choice? If you don't believe Jesus lives then disbelieve and be afraid.
