I don't get why UK girls are always saying Americans are fatter.
America has a large amount of people who are overweight, but I heard somewhere it's been proven that the UK is just as fat, if not more on in a small place than in a big country.
In Texas, USA 1 in 4 people are overweight. I'm not from there, but that's a lot of fat people. But not ALL Americans are fat. Most of its young people are much thinner than the UK young people.
I think I notice that in the UK theres not constant competition to be thin? I don't know. Women just seem to be okay with having a thickness.
But is is normal to assume UK girls are fatter than American girls?
A - It's because you eat to many burgers.

A - Where did you hear this, at weightwatchers?

A - How old are these "young" people?

A - All women are thick, regardless of their nationality.

A - I think you have weight issues, it's what's inside that counts.
So, one day at a concert waiting in line to get autographs from the band, I met this Australian guy with his wife/girlfriend, idk...but they were standing in line right next to me. Well, my friends and I began talking with him and we got onto the topic of obesity etc..and what he said to me was shocking. He said "Are you kidding me? You think America is bad? Come to Australia..there are a lot more fat people than you can imagine" I was really taken aback by his statement. So there you have it..even Australia has their fair share of problems.
But overall, to be honest, I don't think you can single out one country that has more fat people (or a higher percentage of fat people). Maybe there are slight variations between the U.K and the U.S.A. But it is nonetheless, a worldwide problem that's growing by the day.
but where i live in the us, fat people are VERY rare. maybe youll find one in a crowd of 100. so saying 2 out of 3 americans are fat is simply ridiculous
No point getting defensive about it, lol.
Justttt kiddinnggg
Honestly, I believe that people are getting really sadistic with the overweight thing. I mean, if someone is racist or homophobic they're a leper but it's totally acceptable to rag on the overweight. I mean look at Neomycin's comment. And people justify it by saying that the overweight CHOOSE to be overweight, as if it's so easy to give up food. Metabolism is a genetic thing. I know people who eat nothing and stay a bit heavy and I know people who eat EVERYTHING and are stick thin. It's really unfair to treat anyone so cruelly just because they don't look great in skinny jeans. Sadistic even, imo. So who cares who's fatter. Yes, we should try to all become healthier nations but let's not point fingers and play the blame game.
Okay so I'm and Asian American. I just moved back to the States during the summer after spending four years in China.
Let me just say, the adults are one of three things:
1. Fat/chubby all around
2. Skinny
3. Has noticeable flab in some areas, but not everywhere (arms, legs, face, etc.)
I have also noticed that so many younger teens are super skinny. The older teens are fairly slender, and then the chubs start coming in around 23 and up.
Just my observations. Now, I don't know which country is fatter, but I've been to a lot of countries, and (sorry to all the patriots) the fat people of the world tend to be in the Caucasian countries. -holds hands up in defense- Wait!
I know there are fat people everywhere, even in Asia (trust me, I've seen 'em). Sooooo my point? Honestly, I don't even know.
PS I got made fun of for being American in China. People wondered why I didn't eat a cheeseburger everyday.
There are skinny and fat people everywhere, and there are also fast-food joints in most countries. That is no excuse anymore.
UK is a tiny island. There are many fat girls who think they are thin or 'average' when they're actually much above, but its same with the US.
I think the ratio is probably the same. The UK might have less because it's tiny, while the US has billions more people to judge from.
I don't know if being thin gains me the right or not to answer, but this isn't offensive to me, so hence an honest answer.
