First off we didnt eneter WW2 until June 1942.Europe had fought the Nazis since 1939 with no help from us.And even after we found out that Hitler was killing Jews by the millions ,to our great shame ,we still didnt enter the war for 2 years.secondly 2.5 million people in France died in ww2.people in Europe were fighting to be free before the USA was even established.learn some history fooL!

ok what country saved "us" because to tell you the truth we saved most asses! if we didnt come in (not to say that we are great we sure arent anymore) but we did do a lot... so what country are you in? and France is doing wonderfully they are a great country who knows how things work... unlike YOU!

Way to ignore the original post, dumbsh it. It says the U.S. saved their asses, which is exactly what happened. If the U.S. had not joined the war, the Germans would have won, easily with the Japs helping. The only reason they did not win is because the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor when Hitler did not want them to. 60 more days without us joining and the fuel supply would have been cut off, we would not have been able to join on a massive scale, and Germany would have won. Learn facts, not propaganda.

If you are from England, then you did do a lot, perhaps the most, but you did not shift the course of the war, WE did.
Plus France is the dumbest country out there (in Europe). Look at their protests last year that shut down an initiative that would have given most of the dumbasses who protested against it jobs. Commie French pussies suck ass.

americans are basically taught in schools that they are the best country, they hardly know anything about other countries coz they love themselves. 5%% of americans have passports.
And England were the most victourious in World War 1 and 2. because at the begining america just staid out of it. England had to do the Dirty work, but i havent studied it properly in class so i dont know the other countrise that helped. americans have made videos of how THEY won it when clearly it was a matter of hitler trying to take over Russia and they chased the Germans into the east and England and america chased them on the other side. we almost had another war against Russia of claiming Land. England yet small still have the best trained Navy and Army like we always have had, as we all know when Spain tried to take over England with the Spanish Armada. not a single British ship was sunk.

The Russians beat the germans, of course our bombing campaignes helped a lot but our landing in france really only sped the war up. The germans could not replace their looses on the battle feild wheather it was people, tanks, aircraft or anything where the russians could double theirs and with their offensive timed perfectly with the worse russian winter in years they were on the offensive for good, the only thing the germans were betting on was having the russians beat before winter hoping they would fall like a house of cards thus explaining why they didnt even have winter out fits for alot of their troops for so long. For the posting, yes europe is gay but who cares england is our closet friend but most of thier country is liberal weeners so they are dealing with the same problems we are. We need to be at war so its not happening here we need to drive our enemys off the face of the earth to preserve our futre even if it means going into Iran. We cant sit and wait

russia would have eventually lost in the long run. at the time, the germans had the strongest military on the earth, and was whooping the shit out of every nation in europe. hitler made the mistake of invading russia, yes. BUT with the help of italy and japan, and not to mention the retardation of stalin to send millions of under trained under-equipped troops; the conquest of russia would have happened eventually.

the united states was at its height after this war, and YES we did save major ass. without the U.S the world would probably be in shambles right now, or under totalitarian rule by Hitler III.

the U.S was always meant to get involved in the war, it was just a matter of time. we were lucky, however, that we got involved at the right time, and not later like the original poster stated.

This post is completely irrelevant dealing with the current politics in the U.S. It doesn't matter who won or "beat ass" in WWII- that event happened over 50 years ago and has no bearing whatsoever on the United States' current political blunders.

1) the US entered the war in 1941, dec 7th, to be precise.

2) the US gave billions of dollars to both France and Britian between 1939 and 1941. In fact, France received the most money during this period. Obviously a waste of funds.

3) if the french had been half as rude to hitler and the nazis as they are and have been to american tourists, wwII might have been more quickly won.

And for the record, I think that since WWII Germany has been easily the greatest country in Europe.

I'm american and i dont think we did much for europe, they pretty much can handle themselves . i live in the uk at the moment and i have been taught a lot about what europe did for itself, it was nice for the usa to help. the Nazi regime was a bad thing indeed.

british intelligence discovered the plan to the bomb pearl harbour, Churchill tipped off the americans.

There was quite a large withdrawal out of pearl harbour before the bombing. Again a little known fact.

The cynical view is that churchill, used that information as a political lever to bring the americans into the war, not to particularly save our own asses, but to bring about a quick end because war is an expensive game and england was totally bankrupt by it. Churchill foresaw the break up of the empire, a quick finish to the war could have prevented its break up

the war finished quicker but the empire was lost anyway, just over a longer period of time.thats how the commonwelath was formed.

Hitler having a go at Russia in the middle of winter when all his troops were only issued with summer kit, certainly played its part really dented the strenght of his forces, he lost alot of troops and also destryed a lot of the troops hither too unbreakable confidence in its leadership. Their morale really dipped after that.

the things you said arent exactly little known facts... anyone who knows their history knows that the aircraft carriers were out to sea during the bombings of pearl harbor... FDR wanted a reason to enter the war, so he let the japanese do their bombing and then retaliated

well id like to add that things from ww2 do affect things even to day a long run of strong american wealth and power has lasted maney years. this is slowly dwindleing.

america isnt as free as original. war isnt ever good and if you ever look up how world war one started itl make you mad. world war one was started by one assasination of a rich dude. men of power get in fights so the masses fight for them like a game. its said that there was really like 100 milloion russion deaths at thar time millons of jews,americans,french,brithish,germans, its a power strugle game.

They say the start of World War 2 had many reasons Hitler's killing of the Jews. For which he thought they were the reasons for Germany's loss in World War 1.

That was a reason but not a start. Then you had Italy leader Mussilini thad to behind it because of the alliance, Germany and Japan leaders, Hitler and Tojo both believed in being able to take over whatever land.

Both of the countries were in the League of Nations. Remember this. Another reason for the start of the war is that World War 1 ended in so bad. Russia who was allied with us were the good guys and were supposed to get money and land.

Instead of this happening Russia got land took away and no money. How fair was that. Hitler and Mussilini and Stalin all believed in totalitarian, the belief in total control.

Then it happened Japan invaded a country and took it over,there in the League of Nations remeber. They just invaded the country and the League of Nations did nothing to Japan. So what do you think that told Hitler, that the League of Nations was weak,and that he could do the same and get away with it. So Hitler invaded Austria and took it over.

Next he invited the rulers of Czechoslovakia to Germany for a meeting without one shot being fired he took over Czechoslovakia,promising the rulers that that was his last taking over of the country.

He lied placing his eyes on Poland, but in order to take over Poland, they would have to go to war with France and Britain because both of those countries promised Poland protection.

Russia would help because Poland was half of the Soviet Unions. So Russia and Germany got together and signed, what if Germany took over Poland Russia would get there half of the land.

Germany did not want to fight a two front war again like in World War 1, so they got together and signed the act. Germany could easily beat France or Britain but would get crushed if they crashed against Russia too.

Well Hitler did not stop there they took over Poland and invaded Russia's land too. After that war had started with Japan entering on Germany side and the United States finally got involved, to help Britain and France with Russia, Take out Germany, Italy, and Japan.

That my friends is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to WWII knowledge, one of my many specialties.

The President knew of the mounting opposition of the American people thanks to the memories of World War 1 horrors. He from sources wanted to enter the war but didn't want to risk declaring one since the elections were coming up in the near future.

He did however passed acts which inturn supported the United Kingdom and it's allies ie. arms and ships which could be paid later, allowed Americans head to Canada and join their forces to fight under the Royal Canadian Forces and other measures which concerned the Germans and other axis powers.

Japan knew that the US was slowly but surely tightening it's grid on it's export of oil to Japan and had no choice to attack the base at Pearl Harbor. The President apparently knew of the prior attack hence the strange "withdrawnal" of it's aircraft carriers from the harbor. It was the perfect reason for the Americans to enter the war.

The British entered the war on a totally different reason - the reason of brotherhood. It honored Poland's call to assist her when in need. The call cried the beginning of World War Two.
