I'm a 17 year old girl. I weigh 150 pounds. I don't know if this would be considered fat or not. I am currently trying to lose weight but i just want to know if i really have to. i don't actually -look- fat, but it feels like it.
Do you think it's normal?

It depends on your height and body type.

This is a helpful reference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_mass_index
Well young lady, Im a 24 year old man and Im very into eating healthy and body building. I can tell you that unless you do body building or are like 7 feet tall you are probably a little fat. You should get it under control now while you have the chance because it's only going to get worse as you get older.
Start an exercise routine immediately (4 or 5 days a week, cardio and weights)
change your diet NO pop unless it's diet
No candy
No chips

very little fast food

eat more lean meat and vegetables and less breads and carbohydrates
Since you don't think you LOOK fat, but you FEEL fat, your problem is probably that you aren't happy with your body.

If you can lose a few pounds and feel comfortable, that's fine. But if you get stuck in the "I feel fat" mentality, you can end up feeling overweight even if you are really thin.

So try to feel comfortable in your body, even if its not perfect for you.
just throw up after you eat. or take up smoking. or heroin. or some combination of the three. hell why not try them all?

As someone else has said, it depends on your height and build. When I was 17, I was 177cm (barely 5'10") and was told not to go under 150lbs, that my healthy weight target was around 160. It feels like a large number when you compare it to other girls (especially shorter girls), but a healthy weight is dependent on YOUR factors, not someone else's. If you're serious about wanting to lose weight, and think you might be overweight, the best thing to do is talk to your doctor. Not strangers on the internet (where fetishes range from anorexic girls to girls who weigh in at 500lbs).

The Atkins diet is complete idiocy and goes against all nutritional science. Carbohydrates are not bad, they give you the energy you need to exercise and to stay active.

Here's what you should do:

1) Follow the food pyramid. Eat lots of salads with pasta or stuff like that.
2) Do NOT eat lots of meat, and avoid sweets at all costs.
3) Never eat fast food. Ever.
4) Exercise daily, and go to the gym at least twice a week. Running is one of the best things you can do.
5) Instead of red meat, eat fish. Fish has more protein and vitamins than red meat (beef, steak, etc). Eating fish is extremely healthy, just look at the japanese, they have the longest life span.
6) Learn to love Japanese food. Sushi is god-like.

and finally,

7) Exercise your brain. I'm serious about this. Your brain uses up more energy than anything else in your body. If you spend your time thinking a lot, instead of letting the TV do the thinking for you, you'll end up being more active and weigh less.

Oh, and make sure that you don't end up doing something stupid like becoming anorexic or bulimic (not eating or throwing up your food). That'll grab you a quick one-way ticket to the crematorium.
150 is not "fat" for someone under 7 ft tall. You're either exaggerating, or an idiot.

4 to 5 days a week cardio and weights, by all the most recent studies, is too much. 3 Days a week of either (alternate) or 3 total body workouts (with a day of rest in between) is the healthiest methodology of working out.

But hey, you work out thus you must know everything right? It's people like you that cause eating disorders.

I wouldn't worry. For one thing at 14 you are in early adolescence. Hormone changes could very well cause your body to become a very different shape in the near future. So that "advice" about it only getting worse as you get older is bunk.
So is the suggestion about drinking diet sodas, or pop. That stuff is no good for you. Aspartame, AKA Nutrasweet can cause short-term memory loss. The only healthy sweeteners are sugar and stevia. Well, fructose is ok too. And Saccarine, aka sweet-n-low is still tons better than aspartame.
I would also advise you to avoid the Atkins diet, like the guy did above. It is quackery, and can cause malnutrition and even possibly gout. (look it up)
And I would avoid any weight-loss plan that involves a pill. They are usually bad for your heart.

Please try to like yourself as you are. You can cause yourself so much pain for poor results if you try desperately to change your weight.

150 pounds is not fat, it's no where near fat. You may be a little chubby, but there's nothing wrong with that. However, if you do feel fat, a little more exercise might be all you need. Buy a pedomiter and try to get at least four miles of walking in a day (that including the normal walking you do at school or work) try to increase the distance each day. I started doing this and have dropped 20 pounds in 2 months with almost no change in my diet.

i know exactly what you mean. It really does depend on your height, muscle mass, etc. I personally weigh around 150 and i consider myself relatively skinny. I am 6' and i play a lot of sports. Each person is unique when it comes to this topic.
ur fine honey.
If you FEEL fat, then maybe it's your muscles and stuff that tire you out? Some good excercise is helpful even if you aren't trying to lose weight, it boosts your confidence and gives you more energy. Then you will be 100 lbs and hopefully happier about everything; including yourself.

:)
no totally normal. that should be just right on the growing curve. you say you're not fat but feel like it. Its okay, as long as you don't have fat hanging over your sides then its okay.
@: smithee
hunny to me it sounds like your fine... im 5'8 and 160... but it really does depend on your height like if you were like 5'5, 5'6 then i would say your perfectly normaal... if your were like 4'8, 4'9, ect. then i would say loose a little...
You are an asshole - plain and simple.

Just because a girl isn't "mean and lean" doesn't mean she's FAT!

Fat is such a derogatory term. I would say she's probably curvy, and probably very attractive, but a little self-conscious because of people like YOU who loathe an extra pound.

You're not fat, you're perfect. Fuckeveryone else.
Um excerise. I drink soya milk x2 cups dietry intake pills daily only :)
umm no it's ok just it depends on how tall u are and stuff but your fine i mean nothings wrong
Concentrate on being healthy and taking care of yourself. If you feel good about yourself - that is what is most important.

If you're sitting around eating ho-ho's and not living - then you need to be concerned.
