What should I do
My dad is retired and well he’s had a lot of problems in his life with drinking and not making the best decisions to help him self. I have spent a lot of time over at his house helping him clean it up because for so many years he has decided to live like a pig and just let it go.
He didn’t touch a sip of alcohol for about 15 years after he got his DUI but now recently since he retired he’s just decided to sit at home and be lazy and I noticed he started his drinking again, at first I had no Idea but then when I was cleaning I found a stack of whiskey bottles and not to long after that when I called him he was drunk. Now it seems to be more and more of a problem and sometimes I will go over there and he will still be trashed from drinking the day before. It breaks my heart but I dont want to tell him how to live his life he hasn’t been breaking any laws he is just doing what he wants.
When I talked to him today it drove me up the wall. I called him about coming over tomorrow but soon realized he was drunk again and just out of the blue he asked me if I could watch the house for about 10 days so he can go on vacation. Vacation? He told me wants to go to the Philippines because he’s been talking to people online that live there and of course that means some whore trying to get his money and be a citizen so I am pissed and really I couldn’t talk him out of it he is convinced he will be ok there. He is extremely over weight and a diabetic to top it off and I dont like the idea of him going any where like that because its not safe and how can you trust people from another country like that? He is nothing a young girl would desire its obviously a gold digger. Well what should I do about this? I cant let him go but I cant tell him what to do. I just dont want him to come back with some 20 year old wife or get killed or mugged just because he is an american.
