Hello NORMAL people of the world! Here's my story.
I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 12 years old, recently it was determined that my curve had gotten much worse and would now require immediate medical attention in order for me to live a normal adult life. At this time I am 17 years old and a senior in high school. I was not ready nor willing to miss any of my senior events or memories to undergo this surgery that would have a full recovery time of 6 months. So it was decided that I would graduate from High School and have the surgery sometime in the near future. Not too long before my 18th birthday I went to the doctor and scheduled my surgery date.
~~~~~~FAST FORWARD~~~~~~
Now it is almost a month after my surgery and I am still having side-effects I was told would wear off within the first three days of surgery. Side-effects such as severe nausea loss of appetite, pain in the stomach or abdomen, etc. The question I pose to all you wondeful people at this time is why haven't there been any sign of these symptoms fading or dissapearing. There could be a small possibility that I could be pregnant, although I have taken a total of 8 pregnancy tests since the first day I suspsected pregnancy. All of which have been NEGATIVE(Thank God!!)when is it time to call the doctor????
Thanks for reading and please offer any advice as to what you think I need to do.
Do you think it's normal?
Call the doctor now
Honey, it was time to call the doctor on the fourth day. Just keep in mind, that they may not be side effects that u are feeling now. Some side effects that u have felt, may now only be a mental thing, due to trauma from surgery, or otherwise, like addiction to med's. good luck.
Normal.
Call your doc!
Are you taking medications? Your symtoms could be side effects from medication.
I recommend a transplant.
yea i agree i really do think you should go back to the doctor. that doesnt sound right. and it has got to suck feeling like that still.
Thank you all for your helpful comments, I am going to the doctor Saturday, I have also read alot about the effects of General Anesthesia for a lengthy surgery(mine was 5 1/2 hours)Many people say that these symptoms usually fade by third month anniversary of your surgery date, now why in the hell would I want to wait that long??? I'll keep you all posted and let you know what the doctor says, if there are any religious people out there please pray that I am not pregnant because I have not finished school yet and would hate to have to terminate the pregnancy.
Thanx so much!!!
