I'm 18 & I had this teacher a couple years ago that I really, really liked. Last year, I saw him everyday because my best guy friend was in his class & I'd walk my friend to class everyday. Well, the teacher found out how I felt about him & for like 7 months, he showed major signs of liking me where it got to the point that some students would ask my friend if the teacher in question had a crush on me because they already knew I at least liked the teacher. The teacher is married & has a family & he's about 10 years older. Is it normal for a married teacher to have a crush on a student? For the record, we never did anything, so don't think I had sex w/ the man or anything of the sort.
its kinda sexy i always had crushes on my teachers so i say its normal.
My opinion, from your description, is that this man likely had thoughts of you in a sexual manner, but didn't pursue them because he was married, and possibly because he's constrained by a moral obligation to obey the rules against fraternization that ever school I know of has.
It is quite common for teachers to have such attraction for their students, usually because students fit the ideal, their usually young and pretty/handsome, and in some cases, remind them of love interests that they might have had when they were younger and would have been free to enjoy them. Adversely, it's not at all uncommon for young women to develop crushes on older men because an older teacher fits the DNA-driven ideal for the female, he's stable and capable of supporting children (which drives your chemical attraction, whether you consciously want children or not, and also displays itself in the attraction most men have for women with larger breasts because it triggers their body's conception that the female in question is more likely to be able to feed a child).
You situation sounds much like many stories I've heard, not all of which ended as innocent as yours.
