I'll start reading it but if it's boring I move on. If its about a relationship I move on because those don't interest me most of the time. I might skim it to see if I want to invest my time reading it all.

Sometimes I just skim and try to find the actual question. Though I might invest time into a huge post if I have absolutely nothing to do and if the story is either interesting or you need all the facts to answer the question.

Being concise is a great way to attract readers.
I will read posts that are a few paragraphs long but a long post that has no paragraph breaks will not get any attention from me. Come on, common literary sense people.

I'll start skimming if it's too long. Then I miss enough I wonder how accurate and on topic my respose would be...so I move on.

Normal. On my phone, I sometimes won't read all of it, but on my laptop I usually do. If it's extremely long, sometimes I just skim through.

If I find myself writing a hugely long story or poll I'll add a succinct "tl;dr version" at the end. I use a lot of short paragraphs and simple sentences too. Then I'll read it back as if I've never seen it before to see if it's interesting enough and easy to read all the way through. Just makes it easier for everyone else and I'll hopefully get more comments.

If I'm writing a comment I don't mind so much if anyone reads it apart from the OP, and the OP probably will read it. I'll still try and make it easy to digest though; I find it real tough to absorb information from long-winded blocks of text so I try not to inflict the same on anyone else!

Depends on my level of interest if I will read it or not. But I agree, people should try to summarize as best as possible.

And I don't enjoy reading books. loL.

Agreed. Ironically long-winded Posts are often times the ones who have the least to say.

I'm an avid reader and read everything - although I do like it to have paragraphs and good grammar. Sometimes they are obviously written by young teens and they need a little advice.

Depends. If it's a story post, then nobody is expecting you to read it, nor did you encourage it to be made. If you get areply from someone on here that is long, and it's long because it has all the details needed to reply to your comment to them, then you shouldn't complain. Kind of like buying a book, why buy it if you won't read it? Why reply to someone with points if you won't read their reply points?
