I only started getting them at the start of this year (when I was 17). I wouldn't say they're abnormal, just really annoying to try and get rid of. I used to get them before I had my tonsils out and my gf still gets them. My mom actually took me to the emergency room (she's crazy but that's another story). But anyway they are from food getting stuck in holes in your tonsils, kind of at the back corners. They turn white because your body tries to attack them. Get your tonsils out.
