Why do i live my life?

Frankly, i can't remember having been presented with an option.
I just existed all of a sudden,
have no idea why.

My religion is that of those with the Tangerine coloured heads, yes, the Dials De Tange.

I worship the White Rodent and seek to destroy the evil that is the wife of the agricultural worker who was so full of evil that she chopped off the tails of three of the descendants of the White Rodent.

For those who struggle with religion, fear not, for the dials de tange always offer salvation to those that wish to worship the Rodent and preach all things Tange.

Our religion is like one happy family that require only the simple things in life like good quality friends who value each other and adhere to the simple codes of buckets full of ale but no drugs, socialise, socialise and socialise.

Our life is simple and we are simple, for the uneducated your time is nigh, for the Tangerine supreme race is about to forth as one.

See, sciences reseaon for our existance is to reproduce. To me that just seems pointless. If everyone believed that the suicide rate would go up dramaticlly. Me personally, I think that Christ is the way to the true meaning. If anyone disagrees, please post why...

I think that the reason for our existence is to not merely reproduce, but to act for the betterment of the human race, to improve, as that is probably human-nature's most powerful trait (other than self-preservation). Most people i have met in life (admittedly a relatively very short life) sustain an overwhelming desire to improve.
Whether that is just the people i have met or whatever i don't know (or the country i live in, yeah whoo! go aussie!).

Life doesn't come with a wrapped up purpose for ya, you just have to make it up yourself if you want one.

Haha, you pretty much asked the meaning of life, it's not like that hasn't been done before. I like everyone dont have a definitive reason to live, but instead just focus on enjoying life, whilst i still have controll of my bowel movements. PS: You're a religion

You ask the meaning of life, I give you Buddhas 4 noble truths noone can argue against:

1) Life is suffering.

2) The origin of suffering is attachment.

3) The cessation of suffering is attainable (Nirvana).

4) There is a path to Nirvana.

So from my perspective, our goal in life is the search for our path, which is different from person to person.

Most religions fail on the part that everyone is different, and have to obtain Nirvana through different paths. There are so many paths as people on the planet.

For some, the path may be: Drink Ale, watch Fooball, eat and sleep.
But personally, I think that the path is the dematerialization of our Egos.

It is our Ego who suffers, it is our Ego who lusts, it is our Ego who hates... And none of these states of conscience will help you achieve Nirvana.

I think it is only attainable by Love, and it is our souls that Love. The only thing between you and your soul, is your Ego.

The meaning? Well you control the universe by what you focus on. Be happy and you are on the right path. Thats all I know.

Why do i live my life?

Well, it wasn't really MY choice, so i can't really tell you.. only time will tell. But i do know so far, that i live my life because my mother and father did the whole "birds & bees" thing a long while back and now here i am.

Hehe, thatīs cool, but we need to keep an open mind about this things, since our little brains donīt understand the mysteries of the Universe.

There is a belief, that before you were born, your soul chooses your mother and father in order to achieve its goal when comming to life; we need to get in touch with our souls to learn how to satisfy our personal goals in life.
Although sometimes our parents dissapoint us, when we are old enough to make decisions, we can decide what is best for us by ourselves. Noone can tell us how to be happy.

Dude, you got awesome thoughts that can be elaborated:

- We know we are dying, but we are not very happy about that. The first thing we need to learn is not to fear death, is just dumb and unnecessary; our life is probably our most glued attachment.

- Yet we are still very good at being sh*tty to each other - No need for further comment.

- So where are we going and what does it mean? - Who knows? but God gave us hope.

- Where exactly does religion fit in? As the word explains it, Religion is our link with God; but most people tend to think you gotta go to a church to do that, thatīs a materialistic lie.
Iīll tell you a secret that Catholics and most religions donīt want us to know: "Each one of us, have a soul that is our link with God".
So make yourself your religion to understand what others cannot teach you, and that is to understand yourself.

i likes the expansion....just a point to cchat on.

attachment to this life gives us the feelings we need to be just what we are, human. withought the attachement we cant adhere to to this planet only exist on it.

For all the gurus, buddhas and swamis and so on who have given everything up and lossed there attachments to all things wordly sat in their retreats blissed out in nirvana. where is the help from them? (not talking about the cults etc ime talking about them that are for real)

The world is not gettting to be a better place. humanity is not learning anything, and they are totally unnattached for all their spirituality and knowledge we dont get much back to help us on our paths.....(so many people are so desperate they end up believing n cults or whatever)

its is our attachment that gives us feeling. The feeling and emotion, to either be shitty to someone, or maybe fight the sytem and actually do something to help somebody.

and from these very actions of helping somebody else sometimes we get a glimmer of hope....

First, Id like to say Im not against anything you just said there at all, actually I think is very reasonable and articulate. But I like this conversations so here we go:

There are 3 types of enlightened people, some that dont speak at all (Siddhas), some that preffer the inner experience than the teach to others (Arihantas), he is rarely understood, and third, the ones that create devices so that they can lead others towards the way; they help the biggest number of people (Acharyas).

I truly believe the more enlightened people there are in the World, the more hope there is for the spiritual evolution of mankind.

Another thing I believe, is that attachments are very difficult to let go, I mean, I am significantly attached to my wife, I donīt know what Id do without her.
But I do believe attachments are an illusion of this physical realm, that keep us from following the path of enlightment.

My point is, the help from them is Wisdom, which is way more precious than all the jewels and treasures in the World.

also what you say about the siddhis etc is stuff I already know....kundalini, aghora and the left hand path.....do you know of these terms? this is where my klnowledge comes from.

i agree with you totally about the more enlightened people there are the better the world would be, but then where would the need for civilisations be? all these people with no attachment for anything wouldnt need anything!

But that is not the way the world is, and to give up material existance is to ignore the suffering (and the excessess) of your fellow man.

ignoring the pain of others to me is a sin mate and nirvana at the expence of ignoring someone's suffering doesnt sit comfortably with me. Its all around us these days, its only a reality when its on the news in another country, but that is safe because its far away. The real truth is that it is outside your fron door, we tend to be able to tune it out. Losts of people give money to sponsor shildren, animals and projects in far off lands but cant give down an out loose change on their high street because they have simply asked you for it.

one person doesnt give a damn about the other, because living from one moment to another is becoming harder and harder,

most people to get even a sniff of nirvana are considered the good people

mate, if this really is the kaliyuga then spirituality has lost its impetus and for all the people attaining moksha, the suffering will continue, if your happy with that, go for it.

personally i have seen far too much shite in my life ive caused it and ive been on the end of it and i have also stood by and let it happen, I am human......ican be no less and I can be no more, and I really belive that it is now the time for humans to wake up and take direct action (not the animal liberation front type!)

This is what I mean by direct action: If everybody in the world whatever their station in life went out of their way to help somebody in some way just once a week. I think we would really start making a change.

wisdom is great, but even that is all around you, its a funny thing with us humans, we tend to think that wisdom has more value if comes from far away, again, the best wisdom is rite outside your front door.

Hi brother, I didn t take your argument in offence, actually I don t get mad very easily.
I apologize if my post sounded like I was heated or something, I m at work so my mind is everywere right now.

Truly I say to you that you are the first person in this site that actually gave me something to meditate about.
I am somewhat familiar to the terms you mention, but there is never enough information one could gather..

Man you sound just like me talking, I was amazed you used the quote:

We all have seen what our fellow humans are capable of doing, Evil is all around us.
But it is the ignorance of those who do wrong, and the ignorance of those who educated them that opens a path for evil to get in their hearts.
We are all human, so we are all subject to ignorance, hell, I donīt know about most of the things I talk about, so we are all ignorant in some level or another.

But as I agree with you mostly, I also not think Enlightment is about one person reaching Nirvana.
You won t be able to reach Nirvana if your purpose is to stop your own suffering, that is not possible.
If you do the things you preach, and keep a strict spiritual path, you probably are a bodhisattva yourself, and don t know it yet.
The path to enlightment is a path of suffering, because as you become more and more enlightened, you become more and more aware of the Evil that is around us; and the little one can do to stop it.

I believe that if you are enlightened, in this physical realm you suffer even more than a non-enlightened person, you can reach Nirvana in this life, but Enlightened people choose the path of suffering for the well being of others.

Take Jesus for example, he was one of the most powerful enlightened human beings that have encarnated in this world ever, and he did not choose retirement in this life, he chose the path of suffering in this realm, the path of helping others.

Basically, I believe enlightened beings reach Nirvana after death, and they can continue in Nirvana forever if they want to; but they chose not to.
I mean, like all the enlightened people that the world have seen, they sacrifice their eternal happines in Nirvana to encarnate in this wretched world, to help other people to reach it; that otherwise wouldn t be able to do so.

Like you said:

To be enlightened, you don t need to give all those things up, what you need to give up is your own ego, which is very difficult for us common folks.
