Just the other day I found my 11 year old sister fingering herself. It was shocking to me because she's just so young. I know she was because she was near me and she was under a blanket with her hand under it too and I saw her moving her hand moving faster and faster as the seconds go and I heard pleasure coming out of her too. I didn't want to say anything because it was too awkward for me to. I just don't know if this is okay or not.

      i agree.

      first: Yes, it's normal. Both me and my older sister started at 10, actually.
      Thats way before hair started showing up or my period had begun. Most people somehow have it stuck in their minds that sexuality can't possibly begin before puberty hits full-force and the physical changes become evident.

      Na, it's quite normal. At that age, she may also test limits or be very daring. I know i'd done some stuff in my room while parents and other relatives where just one door away and could come in any time...stuff that i could not possibly explain away if caught. I just never really thought about that, so it was a naive kind of daring, i guess.

      Either way, do have a talk with her and let her know about things being a bit obvious and the importance of privacy.

    Its a little bit weird because she was right next to you and stuff. But shes 11; I mean sometimes sex hormones come early and stuff. So if your asking if its normal that she does it, i guess so.

    What can I say, kids these days (especially girls) are growing up way too fast, so I guess it's normal.

    why don`t you just leave her be? Did you or did you not masturbate at her age?

    Maybe you should just tell her that masturbating is a perfectly normal thing for anybody to do, yet one should at least try and keep it a private matter.

    tell her about some of your techniques that you used to prevent being caught in the act, sometimes an older sibling can actually help a younger one with learning the A,B,C

    Maybe you could drop a hint to your parents about sex education. I know its awkward but its not really your place to teach that kind of stuff. She needs to talk to her mom.

    Actually, I learned that in the beginning of puberty, most little girls begin to masterbate. It's fine. I can garentee you if society didn't have its "views" on masterbation people wouldn't make such a big deal out of it. She does it because...well...it feels good, and she doesn't see anything wrong with it. Let her go. It's perfectly normal. I promise. But if she hasn't learned yet, it would be good to teach her about her body and how it works. So many adults are trying to keep their children "innocent" or whatever that they forget that our reproduction system is just another system in our body like any other, and like any other system children should be taught it too.
