Is it normal to be scared of leaving your feet uncovered at night?!

I always have to have my feet covered at night with my blanket even when it's hot I don't care. I feel like if I dont something or someone will attack them! Sometimes I try not to do it so that i can get over my fear but I get so scared that I break out in a cold sweat and end up covering them anyways. When I say cover I don't mean ust a blanket thrown on top I mean in order for me to feel safe and sleep well I'll have the blanket tucked tight under and around my feet so that I feel like nothing can get to them! Is it just me or are there other ppl like this?!!

I agree completely! I've always been terrified and have never known why, but everytime I try to leave them uncovered I think of Paranormal Activity!

I have to have my feet covered or I just can't get to sleep at all. In summer I have to wear socks(!) so that I can uncover my lower half to cool down. I also HAVE to cover my ears and neck every night too. Must look like a freak to my husband... only wearing socks and having a sheet wrapped over neck and ears (but never face!!).
I wake up from VERY scary nightmares and discover my feet have become uncovered during sleep. Weirdness!!

I am exactly like that...same way when Im sitting on a couch watching scary movies...haha.
I guess I feel like someone is going to drag me off the bed too! But they can still do that if they're under the covers...wow I'm weird

I did this as a kid to feel safe. I told myself that monsters has rules:

    1. They can only kill people by putting poison in their feet.

    2. If they touch a blanket, they die.

I don't mind my feet being uncovered, as long as my legs are bent (allowing a sense of safety anyway) just out of habit. It's normal, unless a lot of people are weird.

Lol! This is me, exactly! I know why I do it tho. As a kid, my older sister convinced me that if I didn't cover my feet on Christmas eve, the Christmas witch would cut them off and eat them. Pathetic, but I STILL have to have the feet covered! Gotta love siblings, I think

Yep, this is me too! It's been this way as long as I remember. As a young child, if I ever needed to get up to pee in the middle of the night it was frightening. If I really couldn't hold on, I had a way of curling my toes under my feet as I walked, in case someone/thing came and chopped them off! Life is funny.

OMFG..I have been with my partner for 5 years and all this time i have laughed at him because he can't have his feet out of the blanket before sun rise.. and wen I asked him why he said it's because the foot monster can't come out after sun rise.. he treats the beading of the mattress like the mushroom circle in the spider wick chronicles lol been telling for years it don't exist but then I read all this.. I'm flabbergasted

Hi! I`m happy I found this post. I thought I am the only one scared of leaving my feet unconvered.
I voted that it`s normal because this is how I grew up.
However, now that I`m 31 and I still have this issue it just doesn`t feel right. It might be something related to anxiety.
Basically, what I expect is that if one can sleep without a blanket there should be no difference if the feet are uncovered

    Cheers!

Me too sorta I feel like someone or something is going to touch me or pull me off the bed. Buttt I can sleep without them on cover as long as it's not just my feet and I usually curl.

I am the same in a way. I don't imagine something grabbing my exposed feet in bed but it just feels uncomfortable if they are exposed while the rest of my body is warm and snug under duvet/blankets.
Maybe the feet feel the cold more, so if they aren't covered, it's uncomfortable.

you actually lose most of your body heat through your feet.
