I just tend not to like older men as anything other than platonic friends, if they're interested in more than friendship with me it usually repulses me.
I think the ideal would be to date someone the same age. I think a five to to seven year age gap either way is acceptable for most people. I also think that anything more than a 10 year age gap either way is too much, because ten years is pretty much a generation. I think it's essential that people be compatible, and able to relate to one another when looking to date.
Very wise words, thanks for your insights, I greatly appreciate it!
As a 35 y/o guy, it feels criminal to match with girls as young as 22, which is why I don’t bother matching with them even though I see that I got likes from them. It would be a waste of both her and my time, which is why I mainly seek 28+ as we are in the same phase in life, unlike students in their early 20’s.
There are some extreme cases though. A colleague of mine who’s a 29 year old woman recently married a 73 year old man and they are now expecting a child… I really pity that child as his or her dad will be in the grave by time he/she becomes a teenager
IIN I no longer find women my age attractive

Nope, I don't think a 40 year old ought to date a 27 year old.
This is the kinda stuff that would make me want to be a lesbian, or become a nun.

I agree that 27 with 40 is a stretch (the formula agrees as well, as it is the minimum acceptable age according to 1/2+7).
I would say a 40 y/o can date down to 32. A 32 can date down to 25 and a 25 can date down to 20.
What’s your take on this, more reasonable or still too large gaps? Just curious as you have a very interesting and valid point of view.

I'm sorry, but that's just not normal. She probably has a lot of daddy issues.
