Every now and again is one thing, but you said you "usually" feel like you are being watched. So if it is a recurring thing then it might be problem. Also if what you did have was a panic attack then there is a good chance that it will happen again. If your paranoia is linked to a mental disorder then then there is a good chance that having a panic attack could be a sign of it getting worse. There really is no downside to seeing a phycologist as they will either tell you that you are fine or they will diagnose you and give you treatment options that don't include medicating if you choose.
Worst case scenario is that your paranoia gets progressively worse eventually getting to the point where you are too afraid to leave your home and/or violent episodes like the one you described become more frequent. Of course that is the worst case and will probably only happen if your paranoia is linked to a mental disorder which you can only know for sure if you see a psychologist.
