That's amazing! Do you know how long it will take you to save up? And will you travel around in it or stay in one place for work?
We did it together just before we got married. We always planned for it to be temporary and the money from selling it paid for our flights back home to the UK and then a bit towards the wedding (huge family pressure to get married in the UK... We would have just happily eloped lol). Also we were both baby crazy by then and started procreating almost straight after the wedding. I know you can do the RV lifestyle with kids but I just wasn't feeling it. The thought of having a baby without my own washing machine and space for a proper nursery just didn't appeal to me. Fair play to the ones that do it though, I'm still jealous of their freedom.
According to the bank calculator I'm switching to if I put 1,000 away every month I'll be there in 2.6 years, but that's cost if purchase transport and modifying so not to bad. I'm also looking at one from plan b supply as I love military trucks. It would cost a bit more and be a but tighter on space but I would be much more in koive woth my home and it would last way longer. I'll be doing a bit of both actually. The school I want to go to is 8 months long and then travel to wherever they help me find work and so I'll be sitting awhile mainly but once I get higher up the chain I'm sure I'll do alpot of moving around.
Mm i fully understand! I would hate having kids in one. Yea the washer machine part bugs me 2, that's why I intend on using a compost toilet so I can just have a big ass fresh and graywater tank and buy a washer/dryer 2 in one thing to have with, it's small and uses5 gallons a load but I don't care will be worth not using a laundry Matt on the regular!
But hey happy to hear it's all working out! Think youll ever go back to the road?
Could you start out with a cheap little converted van? That way you could leave earlier as they don't cost much. Then you'd be saving up loads because you'd have no rent and hardly any bills... Then you could sell the van when you have enough for the RV? Might shave some time off.
Maybe we'll do it again one day. We want to go to the us on a long-term roadtrip but obviously we'll have to wait until the kids have finished school. Something to look forward to though
I could but I would hate it. I've thought about it and at thed current moment I'm not down enough to take the plunge like that. There's not alot I desire out of a hone but a van wouldn't provide any if whst I desire. It's a good plan though and power to those who can deal with it.
You definitly should, you will love it in sure!
