I had a miserable teenage existence. Even if I could go back knowing what I know now, I wouldn't. While everything seems new and exciting when you're a teenager, you can't really do much - no drinking, no voting, no place of your own, cruddy jobs, limited entertainment...blah.
And you know what? 20's aren't so hot either. Again, everything is new, and you've got all sorts of youthful impulses and copious amounts of energy...but you are inexperienced with people, decisions and everything else. So many painful mistakes to make, and hopefully learn from.
As a 43 year old person who has learned from many, many mistakes, I'm fairly happy where I'm at. I'd say if I could go back, it'd be to my 30s, when you've had the experience of your mistakes, but still have the energy of your youth.
No matter what age, it will all suck if you don't take steps to enjoy the hell out of it!
Is it normal to want to be a teenager?
