I'm terrified of google maps & google earth?

I HATE when you type something in, and it just starts spinnin and zooming in and you dont know where youre going and im worried im gonna see something thats gonna freak me out. Same with google maps, but not as much. I hate being near water on google maps, just because i dont like looking at picture of huge bodies of water. And like I typed in mt. everest, and I freaked out so much because just the idea of it... its so big. I had to cover the screen with my hand and type something else in, I didnt even want to look at it.

Im the same with pictures of outer space. There was this site where it was like a scale of how big the different planets are.. and it was really long and you had to scroll... and I hated how it would be blackness and all of a sudden, a hugeass planet would just pop up out of nowhere.

I cant look at this things unless someone else is with me. They freak me out too much. Is this a normal fear? That I cant stand looking at pictures of like, big things? Rofl. I swear this isnt a joke, it really freaks me out.

    I tried to face my fear of incredibly detailed landscapes, the earth itself, the oceans, space, etc... by downloading the google earth app. I started to tear up and continuously pressed my iPad home button even though I exited already, just because I saw the damn planet zooming into my location. I was completely fine with that app/site as a kid but now I cringe, scratch at myself, and curl up in a ball when I see it. I'm messed up, I understand you

    Dude, Google Earth totally freaks me out too. I've even had dreams about it! Something really wrong with being able to "spy" on the Earth with that level of detail...

      I can not zoom in on any island or bodies of water either! i always thought i was crazy

    I have the same thing. Except I wouldn't be able to cover up the picture with my hand because I can't touch the pictures either. Or touch behind the screen (or page) where there is a giant picture of space...

    It sounds like you have a phobia. I've never heard of this one in particular, but it's not as if I'm well versed on the subject. Most people have at least one, the issue is if your phobia gets in the way if living your life. If it's a problem for you, you should probably find a qualified professional to help you work through it. If your phobia is just something odd, and occasionally somewhat inconvenient, then it's no big deal.

    I'm not sure why I made this connection in my head, but that's sort of like how I sometimes won't watch videos on the internet because I think that they'll be those ones where something scary pops out.

    I feel almost the same way but pics of these places don't bother me as much as it would seeing it in person. Same goes for me standing near super large statues or monuments. Like for instance in Vegas they have these giant statues, makes me a little anxious. Lol!
