Is it normal that I'm against sex?

Look, maybe you think you've got life all figured out. But what makes you say you have to 'open our eyes'? You think you've got the keys on how to live a good life, and you're arrogant enough to think that gives you the authority to tell others what to do.

You don't know me, and you don't know life. So don't go around telling us what to do. If I love someone, then I'll show my affection in any way I see fit, thank you.

    • I never tried to tell what to do...You do whatever you want, but I can have my opnion about it.

Well, I hope you can see why the phrase "we're trying to open humanity's eyes" comes across as if you give way too much authority to your opinion.

        • Maybe it does, but it's not what I meant. I think I'm right and I'd like people to agree with me, but I can't force anyone to anything.

I don't think sex is something you can be 'against'. If you want to do it solely for reproduction, be my guest. Some people find abstinence very enriching. It's better than being someone who's ridden with STD's. But still, if you have sex safely, I don't see any harm in it.

            • I'm saying I'm against it because the people who do it for pleasure are unaware that that's not sex's true function. And I'm against doing things you don't really understand.

I think people know sex was originally just for reproduction. But even in the old days, sex had its other uses.

See, we humans are equally closely related to the bonobo and the chimps. Just like us, the bonobo have sex for pleasure, rather than baby-making. They even masturbate.

Sex also makes your brain produce oxytocin, which battles stress, and helps you bond with your partner. It's true that those are side-functions of sex, but they definitely have their place in our everyday lives.
