47 good score for marine corps?

I got a 47 they said they only require a 37 to get in. I also might need minor waver if my astigmatism is too high but the recruiter does not think it will be much of an issue. Does having a 47 mean I have a higher chance of getting a waiver for medical? I talked to my eye doctor and he said my astigmatism is very slight and I do no know of any other medical issues I have ON RECORD or that the doctor has ever brought up. Like asthma or anything. If possible can I please get reply from people who have some experience or family in military.

Don't sweat it. If they can't meet their recruitment quota, you will be accepted.

47? For the ASVAB? No, not a good number at all. If you figure 50 is average and the average person is really not all that bright then 47 isn't something to brag about. But the Corps will take pretty much anyone so I won't be concerned about it. You'll likely get your waiver and be regretting your decision in no time. Though if you make it out the other side of boot camp you'll probably be a better person for the experience. Just don't take 0300 as your MOS or any other MOS where they're offering thousands of bonus dollars, there's a reason they need to entice you with money, some MOS's are more dangerous than others.
