it depends on how prestigous your high school is. if you go to an under performing school a 4.0 wont be seen as that great. SATs are an unbiased exam so having a perfect SAT would be more beneficial when trying to get into a prestigous university.

    • But it's actually quite the opposite if you have a high gpa at an underperforming high school it actually looks better because you did well in school even though you lived in an environment that did not encourage doing well in school

  • Stupid question but what's the difference between GPA and SAT?

GPA is the average grade of all classes, SAT is a general aptitude test to show how much you've learned in school.

High School Drop-Out. Quit school at 14 and went to work and 44 years later retired with a great pension. Do not plan on getting my GED or Diploma.

SAT is constant in all states. GPA and the difficulty of the school is iffy. I mean what about AP classes? What if you take 5 AP classes and your GPA is a 3.5?

  • SAT score hands down because a 4.0 weighted gpa is not good

My dad got nearly a nearly perfect SAT score and 4 of his friends did get a perfect score on the SAT test so i'm gonna take my chances and see if i can get better then just nearly perfect SAT plus i don't see the difference between SAT, and GPA nearly the same.

As far as going into college goes, I think SAT scores are more important because of the scholarships available. At least the college I went to offered more money the higher the score. I don't know how it is elsewhere.
