It has a lot to do with your family, social circle and your access to things like the internet how long you believe in these things. Could be normal. Look at what’s around him. If they’re all still pointing toward these things being real, then it’s no surprise he still thinks they are real. You have to remember if your family is religious, he might see doubting these things as equivalent to doubting God. Can’t really blame a kid if that’s how they are raised.
My son is ten. Questioned to validity of Santa over the years. But we promote that he’s real.
Fuck the elf on the shelf. That dude is a creep.
Ah, but childhood memories are tricky, slippery things.
I was recently talking to my young-teen daughter about the time when she was nine and we sat her down and explained that Santa Claus, his Dutch alter-ego and his helper (Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet) didn't exist. I'm sure she was completely sincere when she said she didn't recall it being a traumatic thing for her because she was pretty sure it was all just pretend by that point, but I have a very clear mental image of the surprise and disappointment on her face at the time.
What's really disturbing me lately is watching this the decline of my father who will be 85 in January. He is starting to have problems with his short-term memory, and it's heartbreaking. He has an email that he uses, but when he has to remember it he to give it to someone he can't remember it.
It's possible he's gullible and dim, but I wonder if he _really_ believes.
If he spends time with other kids his age, surely he would have learned by now that Santa isn't real. Maybe he's just playing along because he's worried there will be nothing under the tree for him if he questions the existence of Saint Nick.
Let him be a child and believe in what he wants just dontruin it for him...
My mom had a photo of my dad dressed like santa to show me every year and I first questioned it when i was 5. Then stopped believing when I was 6 but officially told people santa wasnt real when I was 10
Tell him if you rearrange the letters it spells SATAN.
or Tansa,
or Nasta,
or Astan,
or Antas,
or...
He's been lied to by adults he trusts as long as he can remember about things like Santa.
Why would he doubt that Santa exists?
Normal. The age I stopped believing was around 8 but I had doubts at 6-7 I was just in denial because I couldn't bare the truth of it being my parents. One of my cousins was around 10 or 11 and they fully believed so I'd say 10 is normal.
