Why do 90% of females that play videogames feel the need to advertise that they have a vagina and play videogames? In my opinion they do it entirely for attention which is well... pathetic. I mean i'm straight and don't really mind it, it's just you never see men go into the kitchen and call themselves a "cooking boy" lol
I don't think anywhere near 90% of female video game players at like that. Those are just the ones you notice.
I don't play games but a few of my friends do and they've told me they have to hide that they're girls in order to be taken seriously. Sounds like an inclusive environment, having to hide your gender.
I don't even play video games so I couldn't care one way or another if people call themselves a "gamer" or not.
90% of all "women" on the internet are men, 3% are actual women, 2% are men that want to be women and the other 5% is the F.B.I....
What about the ones who don't state that they are female? Thats like saying that you probably assume gamers are male unless stated so. Not all females are like this you know. I just play. I don't feel the need to state that I'm female.
And also I did catering at college and the class was about 80% male and not one of them referred to themselves as a 'cooking boy' lol
I've noticed two things more powerful to the male of our species than his sex drive;
Gambling. The most gorgeous girl could walk through the gaming tables naked and nary a head would turn.
Guy gamers; Sitting on their ass all the time, as they do, their balls must shrivel down to pea size. They're lady killers when it comes to computer generated females, but the real thing, not so much.
I never advertise being female when playing a game. I mean, yeah I might use emoticons or have a feminine-sounding PSN but I don't run around yelling about it or feel a need to tell anyone anything.
I actually strongly dislike those that do make a big deal out of it because who cares? Just play the damn game. :)
Its cool to play video games but I don't see the need for girls to advertise the fact that they're a girl that plays videogames. Its kinda like whoopty do.
I think too many do it and I find it irritating as hell, however I don't think that amount in percentage do it.

It is sort of annoying. I usually don't talk about it unless asked or if its brought up in conversation. I don't feel the need to advertise it. Girls playing video games is pretty common nowadays.
It is part of a subculture of women who think it's cooler to backlash against the typical female by having traits and hobbies that are typically male.
It's only really annoying because nobody actually cares unless you're a man who doesn't like feminine women but still wants a creature with a vagina.
They do this to feel accepted as a minority in a world created for men by men. They seek acceptance and respect, only a very few of them do it to be attention whores.
I think your talking about posers who don't really play it but pretend they play. I have seen gaming chicks before and they are usually tomboys. They act like normal people, and are girls.
I play videogames but I don't feel a need to advertise. If someone talks about it then ya i'll talk to them about videogames.
