I was born in 1998, and I feel as though i was born in the worst generation so far. I wish i was born in the 40's so i could have grown up in the 50's and 60's. I hate everything about this time period. Is this normal?
Best time period for me is the late 80's and the 90's.When everyone was chilled and life was simple.
So ...... no internet? No mobile phones? No Ipads? No IIN? I was born in the 40's and believe me the 50's and 60's were bery boring until the late 60's ..

Not everyone think it was boring back then. Some people say that 40's and 50's were the best. Life was simpler with less distraction, pollution, etc.
Well I was alive back then and I remember the 50's very well: issues such as abortion, women's rights, domestic violence, gay rights, child sexual abuse, racism were rarely if ever acknowledged and there is far more action against pollution now than there was then.
However, if you want to hold on to romantic nostalgia for an era you never knew I won't try any more to try & convince you you're wrong

There was good and bad. I don't really agree with Mr.Penis, but he does make a valid point that gender equality hasn't been sunshine and roses for everyone, not even all women, so I wouldn't call his post "horror".
I feel we would need a modern (ideally female activist or gender equality activist) person to reply, noting the concerns of and experiences of olden days women's rights (in particular).
It could easily be seen that an older lady or 'gentleman' formerly of this era, may argue in favor of gender roles and how the times were 'better' back then, BUT I don't feel this is the modern understanding of the harsh treatment of women (in particular) from both men and society laws is anything but horrible place to be in.
On top of this, I am not aware of too many people these days who do not agree with equality of the sexes including the LGBT movement other than religious fanatics and thankfully they don't count in real law anymore.

How does one define "gender equality" when there are so many differences between the genders both in behavior and in attitudes towards approaching whatever life happens to throw at you?

If you were born in the 40's you would have been born into another whole world of problems. If you were born between 1939-1945 you would have been born during world war 2. I certainly would not have wanted to be born during that time...

I am 26 and our generation aint much better. I do not think it has to do with certain generations. I kind of think that it is the world as a whole that is trudging down the wrong path....and it has been going down a nasty little direction for a long while now. That is just my opinion though and I really support painal and all the things that painal offers.
