so I hate the sound of my voice when I record it, I feel that it is weird and disturbing. Is this normal?

    When you hear yourself while you are speaking, the sound resonates through your head in a much different way than listening to a recording of yourself, so a recording sounds unfamiliar and alien. It's perfectly normal to dislike this.

    I got really lucky. I have a growly, throaty voice and it sounds the same recorded as in my head.

    Lol.... I didn't realise how deep my voice was until I watched a video of me the otherday.... I do sound likea total 'tard

    Normal!! I sound like a punk mouse, i hate my recorded voice. Did u know thats what other ppl hear u as? Bleh

    Yeah, i dont like the sound of my own voice recorded. It doesnt sound like me at all, it sounds more like a kid. It sounds better through a good microphone, but i still dont like it.

      whats wierd about it though, is that its a little deeper trhough the phone, at least what people on the other end say. Im always mistaken for my dad on the phone.

    Sometimes, to save time, instead of "typing" myself a note on my phone I'll record myself speaking, and I'm always horrified when I play these recordings back to myself. But then, sometimes when I look in the mirror I'm a little shocked -- I don't look like I "see" myself in my mind.

    Yes, I can't stand it...To me, it sounds like I'm holding my nose...I hope it's just distortion and not how I really sound!

    I personally hate the sound of my voice but my friends say it's pretty normal. Basically everyone hates the sound of their voice (except for singers).
