A good frame rate is more important to me than good graphics?
A framerate of 60 per second or more beats the graphics afforded by 30fps any day of the week in my mind. Am I a freak for thinking this? Why is 30fps and not 60fps the norm??

Id assume a more real time play than a laggy but better graphics. Ill take shittier graphics with better gameplay anyday
Same here, good graphics don't matter if the game is all laggy I would compromise graphics for q good frame rate anyday
This sounds like you are talking about computers. Is the frame how fast it goes?
My computer needs a new graphics card then. I would be happy with 30 fps on the newer MMOs.
"Why is 30fps and not 60fps the norm??"
It could be for several reasons.
1. Most people are happy with 30 fps.
2. It's easier for technology to handle 30fps than 60fps.
It would require a faster computer/faster whatever to do 60fps well than do 30fps well.
Did you know :
Film is 24 fps and
'video' is 29.97 fps?
You may be talking about gaming and in that case we're talking computers so by making the draw rate 30 fps a developer's game can be played on more devices while using less GPU offering him/her the widest audience potential sales.
As you keep increasing the fps the less audience/customers you can have because of the increased hardware demands.
There might be a setting on your game/software to increase fps?
I'm kinda the same although i sometimes enjoy graphics that blow your mind.I adds to creating a more realistic atmosphere and game experience. If you have a good machine, why not have both? Build yourself a beast PC and you're all set.
I play mostly on consoles thought because i prefer controller over keyboard + mouse.
