A very strange and recurring sensation before falling sleep

There's this really odd feeling I get sometimes when I'm laying in bed trying to fall asleep. I sometimes get the feeling that my entire body wants to collapse inward on itself, and I feel almost like the sensation you get from falling as in when you go down a fast roller coaster. But that's not the thing that's weird. What's most fucked up is that this physical sensation is always accompanied by the mental image of an infinitely large cube that is attacking and consuming inward on an infinitely smaller shape. I get a feeling of fear like the large shape is terrorizing and bullying the smaller shape. It disturbs me and makes me feel weird.

"Also known as a hypnagogic jerk, it tends to happen as you're falling asleep. Typically when you dream, your body is paralyzed, but sometimes you can start dreaming before your body is on "off" mode."

The jerk thing - yeah. But more interesting are the geometric shapes you mention. Sometimes when I close my eyes, this 3d object made up of smaller ones folds in on itself and does all kinds of weird growing and shrinking and spinning symetrics etc.. Ayuascha without ayuascha.

I don't know but when I was young I used to imagine super large things and then something really really small and that freaked me out to the point of crying. Like a super small thin hair and a huge and thick rope in front of it and it freaked me out.
