About my teacher....

I want to know how my teacher looks at me because my peers say it's quite creepy or he's acting like my dad.

So the story is this teacher is extremely intimidating and usually scares almost all the pupils with one look and to be honest I was so scared so much once I started shaking and stuttering. But anyway before I get off track I tell this teacher puns which makes him smile or joke back with me even to the point that people want me to tell him some so he can be in a better mood and not scream at other students. The puns even got to the point where he suggested that I make a book and I did, from then on everybody says I'm his favorite and he treats me better but the point is that I went to see him about being hit by another classmate and he looked shocked and said things like "If he ever does anything ever again, come straight to me" the next day he takes the boy down to his room and apparently he said for him to stay away from me and never talk to me again. That afternoon he came to me and asked if the boy had done anything and he didn't because of how he shouted but after that he's been more chill around me and asked about things when I say something like "Why are you being so rude to me?" etc

On another note though he has been teasing me frequently as of now and staring at me in class and once I look he smiles or looks away. I've also caught him smirking at me when the classes back is turned and I'm performing so only I can see him but it's not a normal everyday smirk if you know what in mean. Another occurrence is when he walking into the music classroom and it was dress as you please and I was wearing a scfi t shirt and so was he so I looked at it and when I looked at his face he was doing that smirk again but looking at my t shirt. It may be really stupid but my friends keep pointing it out and saying I should stay away from him and that he's a creep but to be honest I don't really believe it.

I just want to know if this is just a normal student-teacher relationship or something else?
