I am terrified of plastic cubes. Every time I think about them I get extremely itchy and numb all over my body. Sometimes I wake up screaming because I dream about plastic cubes. Normal cubes are fine.

I played Portal years ago and really enjoyed it.
I got it for my twelve-year-old daughter a few months ago, and she went through a phase of being a little obsessed with it. She talked me into playing it with her a couple of times, but I couldn't cope with the humiliation of her being much faster on the mouse and much quicker to figure out the puzzles.
Listen Booj, she comes by your high intelligence honorably. Your job is to teach that girl about traction. How else will first world submarine engineering maintain its superiority?

A crucial component and sort-of character in a video game called Portal that came out more than a decade ago and rapidly gained something like cult status for a few people.
Basically, the Weighted Companion Cube a cubic, metal box. If I recall correctly, it's the only object in the game you can directly manipulate, and you have to use it to solve a sequence of puzzles.

I almost died laughing earlier in the evening when I saw a commercial for something on TV called Joel Osteen's Inspiration Cube. Apparently it's a cube shaped gadget that plays inspirational quotes by Joel Osteen.
I almost never get video game references, because I haven't had any interest in video games since the days of the Atari 2600, and Pacman. Even then my interest was really quite fleeting.
