After 4 long years, i think i am finally tiring of iin. is this normal

That's right folks. I've seen them come and I've seen them go; schizos, depressives, bpd creeps, retards, assholes, an occasional nice person, even a few near-geniuses. And, now after four years of participating in this raucous web site I think I have had enough. Excitingly lurid thoughts, subtle perversions, and enchantingly forbidden desires are no longer triggered by reading the posts.

I am sensing that my desires are reverting to those I had long ago. That I want to be a better man. Could this be happening? What do you think?

      Damn you are good at this. I don't know how you do it but very admirable. It is hard to leave this site, because of these interactions between all you with deeply developed characters, make it like watching a drama. Is that so bad? GB is very relatable. But you are almost realistic, at times.

          Doesn't your BF have like 3 different accounts though? and I've seen you approve of (your friends) multiple personas here. Once again you seem to imply we are below you when maybe we are just on different sides, but i dont get why that's reason to hate.

            He had one or two joke accounts. He didn't try to hide it from anyone and claim not to be himself. He didn't use those accounts to try and make himself seem more popular, to agree with himself or use them to thumb down other people.

            Do you see the difference?

            You keep saying that. If you meant it, you wouldn't carry on.

              The difference is that you want the world to be black or white while other people have no problem accepting shades of gray.

              For example, either you cut yourself or you don't. Either you manage your BPD or you don't.

              Playwrights adjust the personalities of their characters at will. Do you believe sitcoms are about real people, or do you become irate because they are actors with fake personalities?

              See the difference? Why don't you blow up a television station for accepting shades of gray?

    I quit this site after they changed the moderation rules and opened the floodgates to the trolls. Back in the good days, the moderators would have to approve posts before they appeared on the main page. The idiots who now spam the board with stories about eating poop and having sex with their sister had no reason to come here because no one would ever see that crap.

      I took a pretty long break myself. Only recently have I started to check in here again semi-regularly. I don't participate much anymore though, and I'm not really too sure why I'm still here to be honest. I guess I still want to believe this place could one day be like it used to...

    This site is compelling and yet shit. The problem is that they've left approval of posts to a bunch of self-righteous fuckwits, who only approve a very narrow range of posts. Most of my posts, which are far more interesting and thought-provoking than most of the banal tripe you get on here, never get approved. Probably the same for others who could inject some colour into the site. So instead the site ends up full of idiots who think they might be gay because of some stray thought or trolls who can only try and shock with incest because no other interesting topics get approved. On top of that, there's a serious dearth of intellect here. Solution: get rid of the wankers currently approving posts.

      Being a 4-year IIN veteran, I have seen that sometimes interesting and thought-provoking comments that provide insightful implications beyond the scope of the post can gather a following. If your comments themselves inject colourful commentary, Mensa level users come out of the woodwork to respond with a lively repartee that mostly everyone enjoys.

      Banal comments about sister-fucking are still interjected, but what-the-fuck? The world ain't perfect.

          I have actually persisted and had limited success keeping some of the discussions up at the two sigma level. But after long last, I am still confronted by my own jaded failure to find liberation in the free expression of id-centric perversions. Did Mr. Hyde cleanse Dr. Jekyll's mind to pursue noble enlightened pursuits? Arguably, I would say the answer is, "No".

              I have an entire collection of user names that I refer to as "The Consortium". It is all under the umbrella of a playwright's license for theatrical drama. However, many long time IINers affectionately refer to me as "Boogers".
