Am i less likely to get hired?

I'm currently in college, and one day I'll have to look for a job. I look very ugly, I've been sure about that for a long time now. So I was wondering whether looks play a role in your chances of getting hired. If so, is there any way that I can equalize the chances of getting hired, without getting plastic surgery? Btw plz don't tell me that I shouldn't think that I'm ugly I have accepted being unattractive.

Just wear a paper bag to your interview.

It depends on the job. When I worked for the county it was like walking down the street. a mix of both good and no so good looking people.

Look the best you can, be comfortable with your look , maybe experiment with changing your look but
don't try a drastic new hair cut unless it is easily reverted. Or change your style of clothes drastically unless you can aford to never wear them again if you don't like them.
Have you tried glasses even if you don't need them?you can get one's with non magnification lenses. That will change your look. If you already wear and think you look better without have you tried contacts?
Feel confident that you are the best person for the job, look confident. start doing confidence building exercises infrontt of the mirror.
Realistically unless you are going for a job as a face model your look doesn't matter.

Being ugly does bring prejudice but show up clean, well groomed, and proud of your appearance. Plastic surgery is a big decision and should only be made if the choice comes from a healthy place. Employment anxiety or shame isn't a great place to be. Good luck

Get one of those "victim of the system", social work jobs.

In this day and age education doesn't really matter, especially if it is the public sector. The only thing you have to worry about is if you are a white male. If you are a white male you most likely won't get the job if a minority or woman goes up against you for a position.

Your education won't matter at all.

It will definitely affect your chances if there are other equally qualified candidates. At my last job, we were interviewing a bunch of people for a position and no one wanted the guy with the lobster hand even though he was clearly the best choice.

As long as you qualify for the job and can pass an interview, you've most likely got nothing to worry about.
