When your karma is divine you are bestowed with the ability to instantly send any new poll or story to the unmoderated section. Is it normal for a person to assume this ability means they're a "moderator" and likewise tell someone they're a mod?

I thought anyone could just flag it once and then it's in Moderation, though users have told me it actually takes flags from multiple users for it to end up there. Anyway, it's best not to call yourself a mod just because you flag stuff. lol
It depends on the karma rating of the user, it can take one or many. According to IIN it is possible for someone to have enough karma to bypass even the moderators and just delete a post. But I don't think based on my observations that anyone ranks that high. This is all explained if you click the "help" link on the desktop version of the site.
Early on, I proposed that IIN was a research project for a psychologist or some such, and a (the) admin came back almost immediately and stated that IIN was just for fun and was not an experiment, and we are not guinea pigs. Of course, what else would he say? One doesn't want the research animals to become self aware, does one?
I get the feeling about IIN someone is accumulating lots of info either for a book about weirdos online or info gathering for the government. Not that I'm paranoid or anything.
This isn't true purely for the fact that I'm not locked in a locked bouncy room with a straight jacket.
