Amazon is behind the times

Its funny working in the logistics field all the news we hear about amazon. For example package counts per hour demands. Something all logistic companies have done for a century. Or drivers pissing in bottles, something standard in the delivery business. This new one I just read "Jeff Bezos says at meeting he is assigning a specialist to find out ways to cut down common musculoskeletal injuries and how to design the work to prevent it" something we did decades ago. I dont understand how a company so big seems to be learning as they go.
How are they growing so fast?

Amazon has always been about being cheap. That means they up front do not hire people who know these kinds of things and just overload people until problems occur.

Yes, there are no secrets to any of this. Also, there are companies out there that have been taking care of these issues for decades.

Jeff Bezos is showing his ignorance not only of the problems; but that there are people he could hire as consultants who would just tell him what needs to be done and how to set it up.

    • Last week their systems went down nation wide. I was waiting for 4 hours to get into the yard with my trailer until I left because they said they cant even open the gate with their systems down.

Other logistics companies can run without computers they did it for decades before it went to computers. If the power goes out no problem they bring out the books without missing a beat.
Its funny how amazon is growing so fast and learning as they go.

What exactly are you asking? Injuries have always been and continue to be a problem in the physical workforce, and while hopefully all companies have made advances there are always more advances that can be made/considered. Package counts per hour demands —what about it? Pissing in bottles — what about it? For someone who cares so much about efficiency, you aren’t able to construct a coherent question or point.

    • Look up at the title where it says "amazon is behind the times". The title usually tells you the point.

That’s so vague it could mean almost anything. Your examples aren’t coherent.
