Ankle fusion left me tense calves.help?

Is it normal to have tension in your calves after you've had ankle fusion and other side hip replacement still today (2yr)? I stretch them daily, but the tension remains felt. ?

I had 2 plates and 6 screws put in my ankle and it took fucking forever to fully recover. It would give me problems off and on for atleast 5 years. It was a bitch to recover from. It may be because I use to work hard jobs where I was lifting heavy weight and then I kept trying to go back to jogging when it started to feel better and thatd make it worse again and it was this cycle. I finally went back to the doctor years later cause it got so bad and they told me it was fractured again. I was limping into work and shit just trying to get through the shifts. Somehow me being active caused it to slightly refracture. It sucked. I thought it would never get better.

Theres also a dude who broke his ankle at work and had a similar surgery and he has been complaining for years about it. I keep reassuring him I think its gonna get better its just ankles take forever. Mine took atleast 5 years to fully recover and maybe more. Now its stronger than my other one.
