Any advice about going to the gym for beginners ?

Hi everyone, i'm 18 years old and i'm thinking about going to the gym to gain some muscles, my body structure is so week that i feel ashamed of, so i decided to begin to workout to improve my body shape, but the problem is that i don't know how to do excercise in the proper way, and the trainer in the nearest gym is not very helpful, so i'm here to ask if someone can give me some tips about it, i tried to search in the intenet but the problem is that everyone is talking different than the others, some say do this training because it's helpful while the other one is saying it's not and it's bad, i know some basic training but not all of it, also the other thing that confuses me is the diet i should commit to, i cant put a programme to organize my eating habits and everyone is talking different than the other, so i thought if i can ask for help here, i know it's not the best place to ask this question but hopefully i may find someone that can help me and guide me to do my training in the best way.
Ps : sorry for me english and i hope you get the point .

Hmm. Focus on your form first. So many instances of people who have ugly posture and form while squatting or whatever, and sooner or later end up injuring themselves or having ailments. Start slow, and work your way up, even if it means starting at 15 pounds. Don't be self-conscious when going to the gym, everyone was a beginner at some point.

Always warm up. Don't forget to breathe while exercising, very common newbie mistake *raises hand* and more importantly how to breathe properly (i.e. exhaling and using your diaphragm) Some trainers walking around are nice enough to give quick pointers/advice for free, so don't be shy to ask.

Don't forget the basics: Sleep, hydration, stress-levels, nutrition are just as important as your workout days.

Also, *smacks you in the head* visit forum.bodybuilding.com instead of here

Don't compare your weights to others. Find a youtuber whose physique you like and they'll likely have tips on how to get that physique.
