I'm trying to grow some herbs and it seems cilantro is very high maintenance - I never know what it wants. The chives are moody too.
The only one who's doing okay is basil.
I've googled it extensively already but I'd like to hear from you guys if you have any empirical knowledge on the topic.
phuck those anual mofo's, unless you are in a warm climate. then im jeli. all Iv'e got are chives and they're taking a dirt nap until next spring
Yeah I forgot they were perennial elsewhere, other than chives i only have thyme, mint, and oregano. Ive tried basil indoors but it always randomly dies after being fine for a few month. and i really wanted cilantro but probably not enough sunlight. how long have you grown herbs? do you grow from seeds?
I've grown them for exactly 3 whole days! Haha
I have tons of plants that I manage to care for but they're mostly strong foliages. These delicate little yummy things have been driving me crazy for the last 3 days! It's like caring for a Tamagotchi.
Basil is thriving but the other two keep changing colors and 'excitement'.
Do you know what Hardiness zone you are in?
You can do a quick internet search of a Hardiness map to find your zone, and then find what herbs/plants/trees grow the healthiest in your zone.
I’m in Siberia so we keep a greenhouse, but humidity is a big factor of how well things will grow. Also using crushed eggshells is a good mineral for your plants.
Is your garden indoors or out? Can pollinators access your plants?
I actually hate raising flowers in my garden I perfer to raise vegetables, something with some utility.
over worrying can screw em up. you end up over watering, under watering, going crazy on pest control, not enough sun, to much sun.
