Any other gamers do this?

Was just wondering if I'm being a little sad, I often go overboard on role-playing in video games, for example in skyrim thinking of my characters thought and motivation etc

Recently in gta 5 I've been obeying the traffic laws, it's already an immersive game with the well detailed breathing city and the way your characters are going on with their lives when you switch to them but I find that occasionally driving slowly, sitting in traffic and making your character beep and swear at people cutting you up can add another layer to the game, I always walk to the objective to after getting out of the car for the same reasons, so, weird? Normal? Or just sad?

Haha. I do exactly the same things.

I figure, it's an rpg, why not get immersed?

    Isn't that the point?

    • I was just wondering if I was going too far for immersion for example if I read a book in skyrim I'll sit my character down and move time forward an hour to simulate him reading for an hour, I also move time forward 4 hours if I'm crafting armor.
I also make him go to the inn at whiterun and order an ale, sit down next to someone and move time forward to simulate time passing where he's been socializing. I make him eat and drink for breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Was just wondered if it had past from added immersion to just being sad

I think it's truly down to the person. All seriousness aside, time moves so fast in skyrim I shouldn't think you'd even have to bother simulating time passed. But whatever floats your boat.

It's only sad if you spend way too much time on it but I guess that's subjective too.

Ofr course its normal, Games are meant to mimic aspects of real life these days, PACMAN hasn't been chasing those monsters around in that maze for a very long time

I wouldn't evev consider my self a gamer (I play my Xbox360 and Nintendo 64 more or less once a month) and even I do those things, and I know plenty of other people who also do this.
