I live with a tornado and he's my husband. (and yes I mean he's a LITERAL tornado)
No, there were none where I live, fortunately. Extremely sad for those who were affected, though. Tornadoes have always really scared me.
No, because I don't live in America. It's not very nice though that this happened.
Nope but got a foot of heavy, wet snow. Needed heavy machinery to move all of it.
Prayers for the 70 poor souls in that candle factory though. Rough way to go.
You lucky bastard, it's been too long since me & the "fellers" had a rousing game of "Nader-shootin".
I've never lived in the areas of the States that are prone to tornados, and I'll admit that I haven't read much about the most recent outbreak.
So maybe I'm completely wrong about this, but when I read that some of the casualties were workers in Amazon facility, I was really disgusted. I know the National Weather Service has a very good tornado warning system, and I also know that it doesn't cost an absolute fortune to construct a tornado-proof shelter. So why the hell is a company with the profits of Amazon apparently able to get away with not providing shelters capable of protecting their workers when the sirens go off? (Of course, Amazon being Amazon, the workers would probably have their time docked for the period they spent in the shelter, but that's another issue...)
Yeah apparently an amazon building got the building ripped off. It may be the worst tornado in us history when the death count is reached. Western kentucky got wrecked. Mayfield Kenrucky got it bad a candle factory got vaporized and there was over 100 ppl there working.
I've seen the pictures of Mayfield. Shocking destruction. From what I've read, this storm was very unusual for this time of year and because of the number of twisters it spawned
We do occasionally get tornados here in the UK, but they're piffling little things. They make the news just because they're unusual, although the damage they do is limited to pulling tiles or slates off roofs, and knocking down brick walls that usually look like they were only vertical before the storm out of force of habit.
If I ever had to live in a place where tornados were a known threat, I'd be damn sure that my house had a bunker of some sort.
Yeah Im thinking about it I live in TN we get them all the time. This happened to my sisters house just last year and my nephew was found in the yard with a fractured vertebrae (hes fine now he actually didnt even know he was hurt for a month)

His room use to be the top corner of the house thats missing.
They were lucky the house next to them didnt make it. They built a storm shelter at their new house.
The ones that come in the middle of the night are the worst. And theres so many hills here theres no visibility.
Drove up kentucky to paducah arpund 3am then came back down later. Coming up the trees were blowing around and snapping all around me, looked like a strobe light was going off. Saw trucks in ditches with ppl in them. My trucks getting blown all over the road I said fuck it and just kept going. Theres no where to stop anyway its farm land and sticks. I was right in the middle of it. Rough morning.
Came back down kentucky when the sun came up now it looks like a nuke went off in those areas.
