Are films worth watching if you know the twist?

I can never seem to avoid spoilers for films, a few mins on twitter and I know the ending of every film in the cinema right now, somehow though I'd managed to avoid spoilers for the classic sunset boulevard until recently and wasn't sure if it was worth watching it now I known the twist,
So do you feel you can get enough enjoyment out of a film when you know the ending? Have you watched a film knowimg the plot and did you enjoy it? And if anyone has seen sunset boulevard is it still worth watching?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

A great film can be watched more than a few times, because it's often the performances that make the film great, not the plot.

2 years 7 months, but that doesn't matter because you don't live in your past or your future. Your interested only in the present.

Sunset boulevard is well worth watching its a great example of noir. I normally go into movies knowing very little if anything. I base it on director and actors when I choose a film. I like it to unravel before me. To answer your question I knew the twist ending to the sixth sense and I still enjoyed it although probably not as much as I would of if I hadn't known the ending. To me cinematography and performances can make a film worthwhile.

If all the film has going for it is the twist, then no, they are not worth watching. Examples: The Shawshank Redemption, Shutter Island, anything by M. Night Shyamalan.

If the plot twist is only one of many cinematic devices used by the filmmakers, then yes, definitely watch the film. Examples: Sunset Boulevard, Citizen Kane, Psycho and The Secret in their Eyes.

The story is told a certain way for a reason so you definitely lose out however I don't think you should not watch these films I would take a far less drastic action and simply remove yourself from twitter, or from following whoever is spoiling all this shit.
