ok. i dont usually hate on religions, but i need some clarification. a man dug up some gold plates that no one ever saw, "translated" them out of a hat, then could not do it again when the plates were taken away.
is this really what some people believe?
any Mormons out there on this website want to reason with me about some things?

I have a cousin who was raised mormon. She is now in her forties and she's having sessions with a psychiatrist as she said it's basically a cult that fucked up her life.
You mentioned a man translating gold plates out of a hat... That same man was convicted of running a scam in where he would detect buried treasure by using his, you guessed it, his hat!
They need to stop knocking on my door, because I'm not belonging to a religion that makes me give 10% of my income, treats women as second class citizens (although I'm a guy), and aggressively converts people. I also don't need a religion to tell me not to masturbate, 'cause masturbation is natural, and following religions created by con artists is not natural!
Ok, their real, and their religion is (as respectfully as possible) a scam in my opinion. I'm not calling them stupid, I'm saying they're rich and generous to the wrong people. They pay scammers to worship. They're religion is not normal because it's the only religion you pay for. So no, technically, their not normal.
I am Mormon and that is sort of what we believe,although I wouldn't phrase what Joseph Smith did like that. If you have questions or just want to know more about our religion, contact a missionary in your area. They should be able to answer any questions you have.

I have a friend who converted to Mormonism and has gone all weird. After reading some of the true stories about Warren jeffs and all these other weirdos...I find it disturbing this friend of mine actually believes in "keeping sweet". Makes me wanna hurl.
and (this will make me look silly) do mormons have to come to Utah from all over the globe to get special underpants?
