Exams are objective, because no matter whether the teacher likes you & what kind of person you are, if you do well then you do well, if you do badly then you do badly. It isn't related to any aspect of you, except for th academic part.
School grades, especially PE, are subjective. If a teacher really likes you, your grade is always lifted a little higher.
There was once a boy in my middle school class who is excellent at English & got the highest score in the whole year group, yet received only an average English grade because the teacher dislikes him.
And that's because he has poor EQ & social skills, so though he often annoys the teacher despite being excellent at English. Well...
Burn schools.
Except the Finnish ones and the ones in 3rd world countries.
Bad experiences with the school systems .
And those apply to friends from other countries too.
It’s a long story, but basically the pressure and perfectionism of society is not only at its peak in money making, but also the way in which they try making schools work. Which, obviously, has its consequences with children and teenagers
I had potential in many things and now I need to work really hard to get those back, I even stopped reading books because of all the stress school caused and I was one of those children that parents had to yell at to put the books away. I know so many gifted people, their talents seriously unique and not even only those, all children are being judged at how well they do at bulimic studying. We learn about vectors and functions, but not about how to properly raise children, how things are ok and how to deal with conflicts. And those could be the basics to a better functioning society. Not how well you do in school with grades that don’t matter. Now, being out of school, I’ve started reading again, people I know have started actually living.
What other countries have not enough of, our countries tend to overdo.
Studying was meant to be interesting for a thinking creature, a child wants to know things and a adult wants to improve. But all you can hear nowadays is study hard, so you can get all the money later on in life. That is not what school was for, like literally, it’s to give the people education so they know better and more and have more chances because of that.
Sounds like a slight difference, but is actually a huge one
I’ll stop there anyways because even I am sick of myself raging about our education system.
