I totally understand your desire for a therapy/service cat. Most are cats tend not to be as eager to please as the sort of dogs who typically do service work. I feel like my cat is very much my champion when it comes to emotional support.
I think you should look into what sort of cat might possibly be the best sort of companion, easiest to train, and Google search Emotional Support Animals. I had, at one time, looked into having my cat certified as an emotional support animal about four years ago, but never got around to it.
if you're in america check your state laws, a lot of places in america legally only allow dogs or mini ponies as service animals (which is honestly a bunch of bs) as long as you're willing to train your cat for public access and teach it at least one task that helps miltigate your disability(s) then yea go for it
Yeah I personally believe that any pet can and should be allowed as a therapy pet though when it comes to dog vs cat, dogs are obviously far easier to train hence them being the standard service animal.
