Are you a “woke” person?

”Woke” is now associated with adopting an obsessive, blinkered or deliberately obtuse approach to certain civil rights, particularly in relation to equality. It refers to an approach which is overall and on balance harmful to society, ignores context and counterpoints, and is ignorant of the wider ramifications of the position taken.

Under the pretense of being politically correct, the "woke" person is, ironically, asleep, in that they are ignorant of or unconcerned by the harms caused by their actions. Such harms may include:
• damage to freedom of expression and freedom of association
• the diminution of comedy, and artistic license in music, to the point that it becomes dull
• stifling of conversation
• fear of expressing an alternative opinion or calling out that which is evidently nonsense
• feelings of being browbeaten, helpless and living in a dystopian society
• diversion of societal focus away from more pressing issues affecting society
• the breakdown of language and societal structures
• discrimination and prejudice against others with particular characteristics - typically those who, in a particular location or organisation, are in a majority - under the guise of improving equality and acting on behalf of the minority.

The "woke" person may be acting in their own self-interests to achieve their own ends.

Yes. A am as woke as a person can be. 4
Everyone else needs to wake up. I am always right. 3
Fuck off. Nobody is awake. Gamers rule. 5
I don’t care anymore. Go piss on a tree. 18

  • Nice. It’s possible to work out balanced perspectives with logical thought even while having liberal personality traits.

    Good for you.

Woke is prejudice masked as progressiveness. Political correctness is being tactful. For example white people saying math is racist is actually racist as fuck. They are saying that black people have primitive uninvolved brains. Which is what they were telling people about blacks in the past and that is supposed to be woke. Woke is a sham and anyone who claims they are needs to be tossed into oncoming traffic.

      • Absolutely, math is not racist. You need math to determine what is racist and what isn’t. Black mathematicians know how to solve math problems like this.

This is a misrepresentation of what some people were actually saying about maths.

No, there is literally a video of people saying those exact words. This is so stupid and it does not matter if you think its misrepresented because people are following the misrepresentation. Which is still racist.

Its like if someone said "I hate will Smith" and everyone somehow interpreted it as "Black people suck". The person who does not like Will Smith is clearly not racist. It everyone believes they were saying how terrible black people are and continue saying "How horrible black people are, those people are racist for just going with it".

Fear of not being able to control the world around them. A lack of life experience being the second factor, especially when it comes to not understanding “context” as you put it.

Constantly pushed to fight for attention, to grow up, encouraged narcissism, it’s not easy on the minds of the young generation, the main “woke” pushers.

A twenty year old should just be allowed to be twenty instead of trying to lecture people on the many facets of politics, race relations and the social climate they know nothing about beyond the shit they read on Facebook.

    • Yes sir. The prophet Daria said it’s a sick sad world. Wokesters are so sick and sad that they are in the bottom 10%. Some day I’ll learn how to verify my intuitive guess of 10% with actual math like the geeks know how to do.

Not woke... just blunt, angry and depressed.

I hate the woke, sjw idiots. Ignoring pressing issues, while making a fuss about what a celebrity said 15 years ago, or something equally pointless and moronic. It's like everything a woke idiot says belongs in a "best hits of idiocy" album.

Actually, people who complain about 'wokeness' are just as guilty of distracting from real issues. Try finding an 'anti woke' person who cares about poverty, or sick or disabled people.

It's ironic that you associate people not being able to express themselves as being an issue with 'wokeness', when a lot of anti woke people don't even think it's okay to be a feminine male. Or to be open with the fact you're gay.

I'm absolutely right and everyone else is wrong, what's needed is knowing the situation of reality, my politics is that I'm the king. My "opinion" is that "as" God's my witness there's an overwhelmingness of his will, that the shit hits the fan. I'm not overdoing it.

No. It's one of two words I've never liked, because they were so often used together, but don't mean anything: "Woke" and "Enlightened". "I stopped beating up black people with tire irons, I'm so enlightened now." Being at a basic level of human decency isn't "enlightenment"!

And "woke" means pretty much the same thing in my eyes. It's just another way for people to feel unduly proud of themselves for doing absolutely nothing for society. They latch onto whatever makes them feel like they're better people because, for whatever reason, they're terrible people.

This often means going against whoever they perceive as being "bad", because there's no light without darkness. Someone always has to be the villain, otherwise they're not the heroes, and they MUST be the heroes. So, pick a topic, pick a side, and whoever disagrees with you is evil.

It should also be noted that the people they are typically against aren't always a majority. It's just anyone who disagrees with them, plus the majority if they happen to be present. There are women who are against #MeToo. There are blacks who are against BLM. There are gays/trans who are against LGBT (the "woke" form, not what the acronym actually stands for). They're just not "woke", so they get silenced for "setting women/their race/their rights back".

Im the opposite of woke. I will never try to portray my views as being more accepting than they are. If someone asks me a question on a topic I think its best to give a real opinion even if it causes ppl to hate you.

I respect people more who are honest and dont have ulterior motives. I see this is on both sides now (left and right) where they feel they cant be real because of todays social engineering. They have to word things in a certain way and you can see through the bullshit into their real values. They present it nice but in reality its not so nice. They dont realize theyre actually lying to everyone.
