A Prepper is someone who is preparing for the end of civilization as we know it. Be it a nuke attack, invasion from outer space, virus, civil war etc. Preppers are prepared and stock up on everything they need to survive.

Im not filling up my basement with canned goods but I do have a plan. Maybe if I lived in a more densely populated area I would store items. I have weapons and plenty of room so if I survive an initial attack I have a good chance compared to the completely unprepared.
What do you call it if you've been smart about survival since long ago, before 'prepper' became trendy? It was just called 'life' not too long ago, and still is just plain 'life' in some places....trend 'preppers' are just late-comers to a smarter man's realm. That's one thing a lot of preppers don't realize...while they may be a step ahead of regular people, they're lifetimes behind a whole lot of people out there. Have fun catching up!!

thanks :). i am used to getting thumbs down on my comments now. all the good, honest and mature people have left and been replaced with immature teenagers that just want to be popular on this site and dont like to hear someone elses opinion. honestly, i have been avoiding this site alot because of that. i used to be able to hang out in the chat but even that has been taken over by the teens..
Yes. But I'm more of a country prepper. I ain't got a bunker or anything. I just got a couple m4s shotguns pistols and rifles. And a fourwheeler. And my jacked up f150.
I would be but I dont have the funds for it. I already considered booby traps for my house. I want gates, weapons, booby traps. Yeah the world probobly better off with me gone. Im crazy. I want to build a moat. I would buy a range of mid evil weaponry and wait for the war to begin.
Wow the number of no votes is very surprising. I bet those people will just wait for the benevolent government to come down and just save their asses. How are they paranoid? Have you guys ever heard of the expression, "Better safe than sorry"?

I have always been interested in having survival skills, outdoors skills, a basic level of preparedness (for smaller natural disasters)...and though the idea of having an underground shelter is just sort of cool for a hangout, and I may very well build one some day, I not only don't think the world is going to end, I think I'm going to be part of its not-ending. That's the real way to "prepare" against the world's "end". Try to stop it. Unless it's a religious thing you're thinking about. Then that's just sort of silly, un-provable, and not really worth building shelters for, sorry.
I do when I'm bored. I don't have like, safety bags packed everywhere, I just think of what I would do in those situations.
I know the government is currently trying to make everyone think that preppers are a threat to the nation but that's just... dumb.
I mean sure we joke about the zombie apocalypse - or what kind of mobs will descend if welfare is cut off.... but prepping also comes in handy for other situations too.
Such as... o look a tornado is coming your way. What will you do if your house is destroyed? Or, gee the hurricane just cut off power for a week... do I eat out and pay $$$ or do I eat MREs and cook food on the emergency water boiler?
What's wrong about being prepared for emergencies?
