Not at all. I look, see the number, pick it up, say "What's up my nigga?" and they're usually like "... wrong number..." *click* and I put my phone down and get back to smoking my blunt.

I'm not afraid, and I don't hesitate. I just don't answer them. I prefer to spend my time my way.

We pay $35-40/month for a landline but anymore we get so many pedlers that we listen to the messages at the end of the day but don't answer any calls. Once in a while I'll play games with them or tell them I'm the butler if I accidentally pick up the receiver at the wrong time.

Hesitant/afraid-no...but I still don't answer - I let it go to voicemail for me to check later/never. I figure if it's important they'll leave a message, and if it's super important they'll call back and leave a couple more, just so I know maybe I should check. But picking up and screening your own calls from unknown numbers? Ain't nobody got time for dat!

If it's someone I know, their number will show up, and if they are calling from another number, they will tell me in advance they may or will be calling me from another number, or they leave a voicemail, knowing they may not hear back for two or more days because they know I hate checking voicemail (since it's almost always from someone I didn't want to talk to/didn't know, thus I let it go to voicemail).

My greatest fear is that an unknown caller calls my cell, and he knows exactly who I am, the thought legitamitely terrifys me..

Yes. My old phone didn't have caller ID, at night I continuously got a call from an anonymous man. He had a deep voice, it scared the crap out of me.

Goodness yes! I used to text unknown callers to see why they were calling me so many times. Some were nice and polite about the mistake. One seemed weirded out that I took so long to see who it was. I didn't want that person to think badly of me so, I told them something about how I had only just checked my phone or that I hadn't used my phone in a while. I stopped doing that because the last one, a guy, seemed to be off his fucking rocker. O_O

  • If I don't recognize the number or leave a message, then fuck them.

Pluck up the courage and mess some telesales folk about. Usually I give them bizarre answers like "My name is Mr. Cuddles and I am a ginger cat!" or when they ask my address I say something like "I live in a tree". The smarter ones quickly understand and move on.

    • Then you must have a lot of scars.
How about if it's someone who is really pushy and who tries to talk you into a verbal contract or someone you feel uncomfortable talking to because they like you but you don't like them?

Oh good heavens. You must not be familiar with the king of all cats. He'll tell you what's up.

      • I don't have that problem, I can control the mood and flow of verbal conversations quite easily.

I think it's fun to hear what they have to say. Or mess with the telemarketer.

    • I've never gotten a telemarketer's call myself, but I've worked as one for a short time as my first job before, it's funny to see how the different people react to the calls ^^
