Are you afraid to find out what your true nature is?

I watched Doom and Lord of the Rings recently. Both movies seemed to have this thing where there was some test I guess you can say where one can find his/her true character. For example, in Doom there was this drug/24th chromosome where if you took it, it would expose you as your true self. In other words if there was a trace of..well I guess you can say evil then you would turn into a monster. Even if you weren't always monsterous, their could be a trace of evil in your DNA and the drug would find it. However, if you were pure then you would become superhuman. In Lord of the Rings, the ring brings temptation. If deep down you're greedy and easily tempted into evil then you would become obsessed in possessing the ring for its power. Sorry if I don't have it 100 percent right to all you Doom/Lord of the Rings fans. Lol Anyway since then I've been so scared of ever being put in a position where I would be tested in my true personality and not like my results. I'm pretty average. I get mad like normal people and do my occasional good deeds. Lol. So to leave it to my core personality to decide whether I am human or a monster really scares me.

Yes, the possibility of being put to that test scares me. 16
Tests like that aren't likely to happen so not much to fear. 8
No, I know I'm a good person. 8
No, I already know I'm a monster. 7
Deep down we're all monsters. 10
I don't believe in one's core personality being determined my DNA 10

Not really, fearing your dark side gains you nothing. And denying it exists leaves you blind. When you face it, you have the opportunity to learn and grow from it. What you do with that opportunity shows you your true self, whatever than means to you. But are you looking at a mirror, or a projection of what someone else sees? Tough call.

One's core personality is determined by both genetic and situational factors. Furthermore, it is also fluid; I don't believe a person can have a "core personality" if personality is ever-changing, as I believe it is. If I were to discover my "true nature", I would take it with the same pinch of salt as I would fortune-telling or horoscopes: a very big pinch indeed, with pepper too.

Everyone is afraid of discovering their dark side, but that's how you control it and make yourself a better person to live with.

We are based off of some sort of balance. So the "good" things we do, must be the opposite of the "bad" things you do. If you were either one or the other you wouldnt label them as "good" or "bad". They would just be things you do. Hah not seperated by good or bad. It's how we live. For every action there must be an opposite reaction.

If star wars were real, I think i'd join the dark side.
If LOTR was real, I would also rather be one of the bad guys i think.
    Am I evil? >:)
